A lot of buck passing, but no paychecks

After hearing from an angry parent, I reached out to "Queen Sister," a colorful activist who has been at the forefront of rallies to stop the violence near Fenger High School.

It's not surprising that Queen Sister's mailbox is full. Last time I saw her, she was outside Fenger yelling through a bullhorn.

Since the fatal beating of Derrion Albert -- a tragedy that was captured on video -- activists like Queen Sister have been in great demand.

And since U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan (US Dept of Ed & Chicago Dept of Education) promised millions of dollars to quell the unrest around this South Side high school, community activists have popped up all over Roseland.>/p>

he mother of one of the teens who took part in a summer program Queen Sister ran last summer called to complain that her son had not been paid.

Deal or no deal?
"None of the kids have been paid, they worked the whole summer for nothing"

If teenagers in Roseland can't trust the people who are claiming to be activists, then whom can they trust?

And if the teens were being paid to protest public officials, then that could be a problem as well.

I find the whole thing to be sardonic.

Does anyone want to speculate on any correlation between the rate of teen murders in the Soutside and the ineffectiveness of CEASEFIRE that is the left’s #1 ALINSKY group to advance gun control “for the children” when the anti-gun protestors are paid to protest ... and then not paid?

I was involved in that kind of thing in the 60s and 70s with Alinsky organizers fully intending to stiff the teens that they promised to pay to protest.

"None of the kids have been paid, they worked the whole summer for nothing"

If they were paying taxes, they'd work half a year for nothing.

Yesterday, there was a sob story in the other Chicao fishwrap, the “Tribune,” about mothers gathering together for mutual support because their kids had either been harmed by gang violence or had become invovled with gangs. At no point in the article were fathers mentioned.

I just can’t help myself, stories like this are like finding a diamond in the septic tank of these dark days.

Wait til they start begging the crocodile to eat them last.

You don't get the degree to which the black 'subculture' is a world of its own.

"None of the kids have been paid, they worked the whole summer for nothing"

But think of the valuable experience they've gained as a Community Organizer; one day they may be the President of the United States!

I think those are riches laid up enough, don't you?

Ultimately, I think, the Left doesn’t particularly care about street violence as long as it’s not directed at a Leftist government and its emissaries. Solzhenitsyn always pointed out that the old USSR valued its criminal thugs as “socially useful elements.”

The Left is far more interested in dominating and controlling the law-abiding.
