73% of GOP Voters Say Congressional Republicans Have Lost Touch With Their Base (Rasmussen)
Rasmussen ^

Posted on 10/23/2009 9:02:20 AM PDT by MelSmith

Anyone surprised?

They certainly lost touch with me.

When the Democrat Party became the Socialist Party, the Republican Party became the Democrat Party.

If the conservatives can’t take back the Republican Party, then we’ll need a new party.

“When the Democrat Party became the Socialist Party, the Republican Party became the Democrat Party. “

Actually I think the Dems have become the Communist Party and the Repubs have become the Socialist Party.

It just seems THAT bad to me.

I sent this to Mr Steele yesterday.
The GOP, Republican Party is not “My Party”. It was my fathers Party, and for good reason. The GOP no longer represents the core conservative values that it did years and years ago. I have strong conservative values. I am not affiliated with any party, never have been. I will not ever support the GOP as it is now. You need to clean house people. Get back to what the American People want. It is not all about you!! It is all about me, my children and my grand children. Get IT. I sent dollars for John McCain only to elect Sarah and to try to stop my idiot countrymen from electing Obama.

I’ll be watching, and waiting...........

We must support and elect constitutional candidates whom we know beforehand will take their oath to the constitution seriously and fufill that oath, and who are committed wholly to stand on and support constitutional principle.

When WE, the citizens and voters of this nation insist on that course of action ourselves, in large numbers, we will inact change.

That is what is happening with Sarah and others who are supporting Hoffman...and it is what MUST happen with each of us. It will force the GOP back to the constitution, and back to its own platform for Heaven's sake.

When we do, the right candidates and the right parties will rise to the top like cream rises to the top of fresh milk because we will have insisted and forced it to be so.

The FR sanctioned:

RESTORE THE CONSTITUTION EFFORT

which is an FR Alliance web site, is about precisely that. Please join us, and a lot of other FREEPERS there, as we work together and identify and support candidates dedicated to doing precisely that at all levels.

After its toothless and ineffectual opposition to Obama and the Democrats and its leadership's endorsement and funding of Far Left DIABLO Scozzafava in NY's Congressional 22nd District, conservatives estrangement from the GOP is complete. Good luck on the party winning them back.

We need to get in their faces more and vote the RINOs out. The Dede’s, Crists, McCains, Graham-nesties. Get to townhalls and get on them.

This is what happens when you abandon conservatism. The GOP is in a deep coma with absolutely no leadership whatsoever.

I’m afraid the Republican Party is doomed to spend another 40 years in the political wilderness.

If that turns out to be the case, the question is. What will conservatives do?

"If the conservatives can’t take back the Republican Party, then we’ll need a new party."

Conservatives can't raise enough 'free speech' to compete. Campaign funds [aka free speech] gravitate mainly to liberals of both parties. Ironically only campaign finance reform will ever make conservatives competitive again.

I think they are influenced by the MSM. They constantly praise Repubs who abandon all or part of conservatism. Former congresswoman Melissa Hart, mistaking my husband for a Dem, once tried to impress upon him that she was a good bipartisan pol.
Can’t say I’ve ever met anyone who thought of bipartisanship as a virtue. Most people think of it as spinelessness.

“73% of GOP Voters Say Congressional Republicans Have Lost Touch With Their Base (Rasmussen)”

But, but....Lindsey Graham told us to “get out” of HIS party last week...THEY don’t need us! (so do the country club GOP freepers!) I guess they’re counting on democrat votes with their democrat-lite outlook.

I think term limits will be more effective than a third party will be.

All politics is local as they say. By the time these elected “representatives” get to DC it is too late. I wish more people would realize that.
