‘41 Ford convertible years ago! (Western Auto something devil paint - sprayed by Jim Thompson in the Vo-Ag/FFA shop)

I preferred the pitch black paint with red wire wheels (21” front - 16” rear) on my brother’s previous ‘31 Model A Ford Roadster - with red rumble seat and interior - and red and white striped top made of HD exterior awning fabric - again painted in the HS Vo-Ag/FFA shop -

Piper is in the shade down there - He loves to ride shotgun I know -

Laughing at your description of the Model A. A red and white striped top!!! Love to see a picture as that sounds odd, lol.

Piper LOVES to go somewhere in the car, hates being left home, so he learned to sit under a car and wait.

I have a hard time getting into that Hummer, it's really HIGH.

Our mother found the awning fabric and stiched it up - not back window area and no side curtains

It was for driving to HS and going out to the farm to feed the horses and cattle, carry cattle, horse, and chicken feed

Roads at the farm/ranch were deep dry sand (mud in the rain) until the County put in rolled Coral Rock toppng - so the high ground clearance of the Model A was important

I found an original Model A Ford Roadster rumble-seat back that had been laying outside in the weather for mucho years in Fort Lauderdale on one of the island where some Dracula films were made - painted it with Western Auto red paint - and it was perfect after we made a base of 2x4s and made a bottom cushion -

I believe a school teacher saw the Model A at the Texaco station on Federal and Atlantic and bought it for 5 times what my brother paid for it

I'm racking my brain trying to remember somewhere where I had some small awnings over a few windows! They are so pretty but the fabric didn't last many years in the weather.

That car sounds unique, wonder if you took any pictures of it? I know how good you were at fixing up cars.

One of my brother’s friends in FFA - Willie B. Saxon - had a neat original Model A Ford pickup - original paint

I recall racing nights on the deep dry sand roads in the two Model A Fords - usually Friday Hunting Nights

You never slowed down in that deep dry Florida sugar sand - or you would be up to the runningboards in a flash - same with mud - but the thin tires on tall wheels worked out great

Never understood why I never thought of getting mud/snow recaps for my brother’s Model A Ford

It may have saved us from some of the adventures

The heat and sun in South Texas would be rough on coated awning fabrics

I see cute awnings on little shops. I'm sure the fabric is much better now than years ago.

Padre sand is dry, soft and deep, it can be hard just walking down to the beach carrying all the regular stuff you take along.

Galveston beach was wet sand for quite a way and we could park right on the beach, not even a road on West beach back then. The sand dunes were way back.

I took about 6 pictures of sea gulls at the beach a couple of weeks ago. Threw up some popcorn and they came like crazy, lol.
