I dunno—why would anyone go through the trouble to fake this in 1961? He was an American citizen anyway. Surely, in that year, his Mother couldn’t have imagined he be President of the United States (requiring a “Natural Born” status).
Micheal Medved considers this announcement as the ultimate proof.
If he was born in Canada or Kenya, then he was not automatically an American citizen ‘anyway’. Mommy dearest to Stanley knew the value of the grandchild being regsitered as an American and it would also give Satnley some leverage if they decided to apply it to Barack sr.

I thought the same thing, but it *could* be (as others pointed out to me) that his family just released the info to their local paper. Kind of like when someone tells their hometown paper that they just had a baby (even if that baby was born in another state). it could read like, “Mr and Mrs John Smith of Small Town USA gave birth to a boy on 14 Dec 1980”
If you read the article, it is not about faking it. The point is that the announcement in the paper may have come from the COLB issued by the Department of Health Vital Statistics System. Thus, it is not proof of birth in Hawaii. Comprende?
Does the fool Medved try to explain away the erroneous address for the ‘couple and their spawn’? Has Medved addressed why he thinks the twins born the same two days as Barry are not listed in the papers if the announcements were issued by the hospital? ... Medved is a fool, a useful idiot.
Don’t know, don’t care, I want to see the long form and the long form only, and until that time, this man does not exist.
Medved is wrong on this. I don’t understand the lack of honest intellectual curiosity on this by many, including Mr. Medved. He doesn’t give fair hearing to the BEST arguments of us lowly birthers. He tends to demonize by use of labels and cherry picking easily rebutable arguments, or not considering the more fully developed arguments.

good point about the twins not being in the same paper. Are they the only ones missing? Or are other people born on the same day missing or in the paper? When did the twins finally make it to the paper?
There is no record comparable. It could have been that the twins’ parents were living at the address erroneously accepted for Barry’s spawn drop, and just the names were replaced in the microfiche. That is how I would have done it to counterfeit the imagery.
People were scamming Uncle Sam long before 1961. I'm sure there were other freebies and bennies on her mind that Uncle Sam could provide that uncle goat herder couldn't.
That alone was motive for the whole charade.
My grandparents put my birth announcement in their hometown paper and I lived and was born hundreds of miles away. This proves nothing other than his grandparents put an announcment in the paper. Why does the left even mention this as proof? It seems pretty desperate imho.

No, but she (or more likely the Grandmother -1000% more responsible) might have wanted him to be considered at least SOME kind of US Citizen.
BTW there is NOTHING they could have done, short of lying about the paternity to make Zero a natural-born citizen since the father (Barack Obama Sr.) was not a US Citizen himself and therefore could not bequeath that status to his son. In fact, what the father passed down to the son is BRITISH colonial status, thus forever making the son ineligible to the Prersidency regardless of where he might have been born.
Incidentally, increwase your image to 400% and look at the images of the two supposed recorded microfiche images above. Most glaring is the one on thr right, with incomplete erasure just above the Obama entry. But the one on the left has line alignment problems, also.
