More than one in five of all children in the United States are Hispanic – a significant jump from 29 years ago when only about 9 percent of children were Latino, according to a Pew Hispanic report released today.

The study, called "Latino Children: A majority are U.S.-Born offspring of Immigrants," states that more than half of the nation's 16 million Latino children are now "second generation," which means they are the U.S.-born children of at least one foreign-born parent. In California the number of second generation Latino children is 62 percent.

If you can claim Hispanic heritage, you are entitled to benefits such as affirmative action and minority business set asides. German heritage doesn’t imbue you with any privileges.

“The second-generation Latino children are more likely to live in poverty and are less likely than third or higher generation children to be fluent in English and to have parents who completed high school”.

...that IS a “horrifying number” when there is no will to assimilate! This country is dying everyday for many reasons, thanks to liberals but one reason in particular is “wealth envy” and “race baiting”. Poor Latinos leads to more government hand outs. Whites are being assaulted just for being white. Imagine more latinos to swing the tide even more.

The may be fertile, but they won’t be free.

Too many of the "free" geniuses in this country traded their freedom for license. This is the sad result.

They had the freedom to have as many children as they wanted. They chose to have 1.6 and party like it's 1999.

The only consolation is that Europe is worse off and there's still some time for America to figure things out.

Well, assuming not many women bring their babies across the border (yes, I'm sure it happens sometimes), I'm guessing they're almost all American as they were probably born here.

The school dropout rate in California is one in four and in LA one in three.

Right now the fertility rate in the US is 2.1 or replacement rate. The problem is that we are bringing in 1.2 million legal immigrants a year, most of them poor and uneducated. In the next 40 years we will add about 135 million people, 75% from immigration.

I read a stat a couple of years ago that revealed, of the adults working age men in Los Angeles city, less than 50% can read and write functional English.

How can we even look in the mirror knowing what we have allowed to happen to our nation?

The only consolation is that Europe is worse off and there's still some time for America to figure things out.

The U.S. adds one international migrant (net) every 36 seconds. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born. Currently, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the country each year; 350,000 immigrants leave each year, resulting in net immigration of 1.25 million. Since 1970, the U.S. population has increased from 203 million to 306 million, i.e., over 100 million. In the next 40 years, the population will increase by 133 million to 439 million. Three-quarters of the increase in our population since 1970 and the projected increase will be the result of immigration. The U.S., the world’s third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any developed country in the world, i.e., 0.975 percent (2009 estimate), principally due to immigration.

“Just because someone has a hispanic surname (or brown skin for that matter) does not automatically classify that individual as liberal, anti-american, pro-illegal immigration, nor necessarily strong identity with hispanic ethnicity.”

We’re not talking about an ‘individual’. LaRaza and it’s minions care nothing about the ‘individual’. And they have the power, certainly not those few good “hispanic” Americans who can see the insanity of a mass amnesty. They care about turning this country into a 3rd world socialist nightmare like they left. This is proven with their voting habits and pressure to never speak against any Latino, like the current SCOTUS nominee because of one thing...race. We bled and suffered for 200 years in this country to end racism and these ‘individuals’ are insisting on dragging us back.

The millions of them in the streets DEMANDING and protesting over the last few years proves the majority of ‘hispanics’ indeed are liberal, anti-american, pro-illegal immigration.

And by 2050, one in three residents of this country will be Hispanic.

If Mexico's economy improves significantly, we could start seeing "reverse immigration" as many Hispanics would make the decision to move back to their beloved homeland.

“Hey, it’s the Anglos fault for not having more children”.

...overall, white folks average 1.7 children. Muslims are at 8.1! How’s that for a stat? Unfortunately “the future belongs to the” Muslims.

“Because at the time they immigrated, or their ancestors immigrated,

there was an expectation of melting into our pot,

not making us comply with their culture and language.

Been to a home depot lately?
Does yours have the Spanish first or second on the sign?”

My grandfather immigrated here from Cuba over 80 years ago. My father married a black woman (who is part black, cherokee, and white). I married a Vietnamese (who speaks no Vietnamese and I never learned spanish), my brother married an ethnic German (both of them speak fluent German). We each (my brother and I) have two children and they are hard to peg. I would say we “melted into the pot.”

No one in our immediate or distant family agrees with a mandatory bilingual America.

In Michigan we still speak English in Home Depots.

Cruz is my last name.

California is the canary in the coal mine. By 2050, the US will resemble CA demographically. One-third of Californians are Hispanic and one in four is foreign born. Milton Friedman said, “You cannot simultaneously have free immigration and a welfare state.” CA is the example of what happens when that occurs.

Yes, that is the sad result. But we can’t pretend that when traditional America is swallowed up by demographics that things will be like they always were. Central and South America are awash in corruption, poverty, violence and oppression and that tsunammi is about to wash over our country.

Our children or grandchildren will not live in an America we recognize. We need to realize this and plan accordingly.

Why is that a horrifying number? Children are children.

Children may be children, but culture isn't culture.
