I'm thinking of putting this on my sign!! Along with something that says the Gov't is out of control not just on spending but in taking away our freedoms and liberties. I'm not sure how to word it though (so it fits nicely on a sign).

My wife says she would like to go, but with her poor vision, she would be a liability. She is worried that this might be the kickoff of a Civil War.

This is all military and psychological when reduced to its lowest common denominators anyhow. Thus the CNN panic and the hatchet job you refer to. LOL!

This is as old as time immemorial, as long as man has had battle. This is bound up in the finer points of Sun-tze.

Figuratively speaking, Freepers and lurkers, they (or lurkers, maybe even YOU) fear the grassroots uprising, and it engulfing their position. They fear a rout. They fear because they know it is coming. They know that we are numerically superior. They know that the Obama election was just an illusion, very shallowed, without substance nor lasting meaning, put together with safety pins and a lot of hopes. They know they are lined up with an empty suit, and their opponents are motivated with deep, bedrock principles shared by our Founding Fathers that even a head on locomotive cannot stop nor slow down.

And that is what they fear. This CNN and MSM and their ilk. Their power is solidified only so far.

They skate on thin ice and they know it.

Ensconced in their ivory towers, they are afraid the peasants--en masse and with an attitude--are going to scale up and over their ramparts and storm right smack into their comfortable castles. "Into their faces", one would say in 2009.....

Life will become difficult. Many liberal sacred cows will be trampled asundered. This is indeed historic. It is AMERICAN as APPLE PIE. No amount of liberal ridicule or attacks can defuse it. The tipping point has long since passed. They talked about Obama's 100 days. Little did they think about THE ANGERED AMERICAN PEOPLE'S 100 DAYS...and how in that span of time we are NOT going to let them seize The Constitution, our Freedoms, our Guns, our Taxes, our Rights, Our Lives, Our Liberty and Our Pursuits of Happiness.

Happy April 15th everyone.

Hi DogBarkTree. When you say, "but I hope they can come up with a better song" which one are you referring to - the official "American Tea Party Anthem" by Lloyd Marcus?

First of all, I love the song Lloyd wrote (full disclosure: he's a friend of mine).

But, we at the Our Country Deserves Better Committee also promoted two other YouTube videos including "A Bailout Song" and Bryan Barton's "Tax and Spend" video to provide people with other means of musical accompaniment for their political messaging.

Surely one of those three ("American Tea Party Anthem", "A Bailout Song", or "Tax and Spend") you find to be worthy of a round of applause? Or are you not fond of any of the three?

You did fine posting that link to all the Teaparties in California

I'll embellish on it a little though

Here is
A Link to all the Known Teaparties in California
at this time.

Find one in your area and attend!

Also here is part of an article which has the number of Teaparties across the country at more than 1600!
Tax Day party count nearing 2,000 U.S. citiesMainstream media may run, but they can't hide from protest tidal waveBy: By Chelsea Schilling © 2009 WorldNetDailyThursday, April 09, 2009
Mainstream media may run, but they can't hide from protest tidal wave

While WND has been tracking 400 individual tea parties across the nation, the American Family Association has announced its count is nearing 1,600 – for Tax Day alone.

The AFA, planned to coordinate 1,000 Taxed Enough Already, or TEA, parties to be held at 12 p.m. on April 15 in front of city halls across the nation.

But the group is pleasantly surprised as is stands to double that goal before Tax Day is here.

"Our goal was to have a TEA party in 1,500 cities. We are nearly 100 cities above our goal and still growing," said Donald E. Wildmon, AFA chairman.

The AFA sponsored TEA parties are in addition to hundreds of parties planned by other groups. Taxpayers are also organizing tea parties for Independence Day and various Saturdays so people with conflicting work schedules may attend.

Has everyone seen this report from obama’s homeland security? As soon as Missouri backed off the MIAC, here comes obama’s report to quiet any opposition.

http://www.thelibertypapers.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/hsa-rightwing-extremism-09-04-07.pdf

Here tea parties are compared to weather underground and a new dangerous terrorist network.

http://cobalt6.net/diary/2495/tea-party-movementthe-new-weather-underground

Taxation without representation, what does that mean to you? Those trying to quiet tea parties effect are saying we have taxation with representation and it has nothing to do with what the original tea party was about.

If you read the article below it sounds a lot like today but this isn’t about tea. It is about the wealthy elite getting richer with our tax dollars with no end in sight.

http://www.boston-tea-party.org/tea-act.html

Woodrow Wilson, 1916, said:

A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is privately concentrated. The growth of the Nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men... We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated, governments in the civilized world—no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and the duress of small groups of dominant men.

What say you?

I'm glad that the Tea Parties are a textbook case of the way conservative protests should occur according to my website AmericanProtest.net, which is partly based on me being a long time FReeper and having the benefit of DC Chapter reports but also based on a lifetime of protesting injustice from my childhood to the present.

From flyer handouts to encouragement to vote and writing Congress to following the law, I'm proud of these protests.

It's time to stand up for America!

First cut welfare, it is 5 years max now? Cut it to 2 years. During that time on welfare they must be in some sort of training, education or have the ability to gain employment and looking. I am not sure how to handle the under 18 rule. Children can stay on welfare until they are 18 while in the parents home. Disabled and veterans are exceptions to this rule.

All illegals must leave NOW. No longer can they go to school, get government aid or medical care until they become legal. If caught they pay by deportation and all funds and material objects, cars, etc confiscated to pay for their expenses.

No AID to dictator countries. Harboring Hamas? Until he is gone you get nothing.

Green energy is to be gradual and paid by the corporations who will benefit. Not the oil companies or taxpayers.

Congress can no longer be involved in any votes where they will gain monetarily. All property gained should be handed over and sold.

Stop taxpayers funded abortions here and any other countries.

Call in all money loaned to other countries. No Jubliee act of debt cancellation.

No longer bail out failed corporations.

Audit the federal reserve.

No more theft of social security and medicare.

States held accountable for their budgets or impeached.

Medical costs. Everyone has to have some skin in the game. Everyone pays for insurance decided by a means test for poverty and low income.

Anyone else?

"Watch for Republicans trying to claim this protest as support for them. I just learned that my county’s tea party is “sponsored” by the county GOP. I sent an email to the state coordinators voicing my diapproval."

This is a good point you bring up. Obviously part of the reason the Tea Parties came into existence was that their was a failure of BOTH major political parties to reign in the out-of-control spending, federal bailouts, etc...

However, the one point I've tried to make to people is that when you see Republican leaders embracing the Tea Parties, celebrate the fact, don't denounce it.

It's important to get the Republican Party back to standing for lower taxes, less spending and a smaller federal government. There's ALOT of work to be done on this front, I concede, but it's always good to have people moving TOWARDS you than away from you.

We need to have ALL the "conservative" oriented political parties embracing the less spending, lower tax, smaller government mantra (Republican, Libertarian and Constitution/AIP).

"i kind of think Hannity is a hack. I wish he would have been upset about all this spending when Bush was president."

Yes, this is a bit of a tricky situation. Some Republicans/conservatives were somewhat silent about the rampant spending and growth in government under Bush. Some did speak out. Most were probably like me and those I've worked with/associated with.

We DID speak out and oppose it - just as we did with amnesty - but we also "took what we could get" in terms of lower taxes and strong national defense.

I do concede the point though that some on the Left raise when they say there wasn't an organized pushback against Bush and congressional Republicans for domestic spending and growth in government. It did take place, the resistance was passive. And now the GOP is paying the price. I hope they learn their lesson. They really sullied their brand and set back the conservative movement and made it hard to have clarity in opposing big-spending, tax-increasing, socialistic policies of Obama/Pelosi/Reid now.

Hi there - I was so happy when I got the email from McClintock's campaign tonight announcing this.

He is DEFINITELY a conservative Republican who has always stayed true to the principles of lower taxes, less spending and reducing the size of government.

If the Congress had been full of McClintock's during the last 8 years they would have kept Bush in check on domestic spending and stopping new government programs - which would have been good for Bush, the Republican Congress and the nation!
