South Carolina is taking another step. I wish other states would climb aboard.

“Send a message.” How about sending a real one by rejecting the “grant money” strings that cause them to dance so merrily to the puppetmaster feds’ wills?

If I’m not mistaken, SC has already said, “No Money to us”

Gee, when I was in school, the states didn’t have to do this . . . . . . there was already a measure that the federal government had that did the same thing . . . . . . . . it was called the 10th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America.

Whatever happened to that Amendment??

HOWEVER - if THIS is what it takes to get the Congress’ attention . . . OR if seceeding from the union comes next, a LOT of liberals either better learn to use a gun or else learn to live as conservatives who don’t rely on or depend on a nanny state government to take care of them.

I’m locked and loaded if it comes to that!!

The outcome will be different THIS time, however!! Way to go SC!

That's GREAT if they did! I've got family back there... maybe a move is in order.

Which means it will happen again. But you know what they say, "Third time's a charm!"

Yep. Gov. Sanford is against the pork fest. Sanford may bend, I just hope he doesn’t break.

I doubt very seriously that anyone whose people actually went through the Civil War want another one.

I think the state legislators are probably more concerned that if they take Federal money for unemployment programs, when the Federal money for those programs run out, they’re probably concerned that they’ll then be required by the Federal Government to keep on paying the benefits anyway. They don’t want to be forced by the Federal Government to have to take the money and then have to raise taxes on people in their state to keep the programs going.

You may need to sit down before you read this. I'm concerned that this will be a stunning news flash that could cause you to fall down and hurt yourself.

NO one living in America today went through the Civil War, they're all dead!!

My sarcasm and smarta$$ed reply aside, I'd LOVE to see this work out differently but, increasingly, I am of the opinion that the only way to end the blantant assault by the left on the Constitution is by allowing history to repeat itself. I'm not a big fan of war - I've been to mine and it wasn't that much fun - but, sometimes, war is necessary to right an eggregious wrong . . . . . . . or an evil!!

Thanks neal1960!

Folks, if I'm reading this article correctly(advancing age and all), it appears SC's State House AND Senate have both given their blessings to a 10th Amendment Resolution. Which means(see previous caveat) they've jumped ahead of Oklahoma as being the first to pass a resolution in both chambers.

This ping list is becoming higher volume than I had initially anticipated it might(somewhat to my dismay). I'm doing my best to keep the pings to articles news or new developments re 10th Amendment issues. If any of you don't have the time or inclination to continue getting these pings, just say so, so...

Click the 10th Amendment button for articles tagged with keyword "10thamendment". There is a "statesrights" link atop the forum page.

Please ~ping~ me to articles relating to the 10th Amendment/States Rights so I can employ the pinger.

I continue to add names to the ping list as I run across others participating on similar threads. If you want off the list just say so.

If so what is step #2: WAIT FOR THE FEDS TO VIOLATE THE 10th & the rest of the Amendments?

Then what: (First you need a Gov&Atty. Gen that will ENFORCE) the resolution,

Then what? You have the Gov order the State Employees to not enforce federal laws, do you send in State Sherriffs to keep federal agents from interfering in business and with individual citizens of those states..!?

I think Step #2 is to call back your state National Guard Units to protect the citizens of your state, and call for a supplementary state government organized Militia to supplement the National Guard made up of all able bodied males of your state (of course entry would be voluntary)!

Maybe when the new revolution comes, South Carolina is a place to make the best stand. We can keep the Southeast, kick the illegals out, and set up a true Republic, like our forefathers.

I’d suggest ID checks at the borders, RINOs and Rats will be arrested on sight.
