Like Rush said, this bill is nothing more but a payoff to get a majority to vote Democrat for a long time or risk losing their check. Universal health-care is on its way. There will be no coming back from that.
There is no way to pay for all that. They have reached the moment where they can enact utopia....but no dimes to pay for it.
People are fine with it as long as the money is free....but when their paychecks shrink, and they pay most of the rest in sales and property taxes.....or hyperinflation.....the love affair will end. We will either spend generations in poverty.....or default. Regardless...people will not be happy with their saviors then.

I am curious. Not having READ the bill, how do you know that this is not the beginning of the Union of Soviet Socialist States?
They could have incorporated a passage that edits out the Constitution as a binding part of the United States government, for all you know.

This will be the beginning of end for the Democratic Party and the Obama presidency. Porkulus will push the US economy over the edge and by the 2010 elections there will be double digit inflation and unemployment and Congress and Obama will feel the voter’s wrath.

What I keep wondering is how long it took to write those 1000s of pages of this bill....and who did it exactly and when.
I hope that doesn’t sound naive, but as fast as this thing was so insistently moved through the system, it makes me wonder and think that it has been in the works for a very long while now. Which just reinforces even further to me how freaking corrupt this new government of ours is.
Very disheartening and scary ...all of this.

FRiday the 13th has taken on a whole new meaning.
I just now reversed my flag. It will fly “union down” until the LIEberal/Socialiast/Marxist Bastards are no longer in power.
I probably won’t be alive to read what the historians of the middle 21st Century write about the events we have witnessed and are about to witness.
HST, I have a historians mindset and an active imagination, so I can probably conjure up a pretty good SWAG. It is not a pretty picture.
God help our children and grandchildren!
