Another case where Dad lost his job? My neighbor who worked for Adelphi hung himself in October...but didn’t kill his family.

Lots of Hispanic gang activity and drug associated problems in what I’ve always heard Wilmington, Calif. referred to as “Wilmas”. I grew up in a neighboring city. It wasn’t a “good thing to go to “Wilmas” man”. That was back in the 50’s and 60’s.

Pelosi: “This is great, it will be less of a strain on the federal budget. Maybe we should include free bullets in the stimulus package!”

I've always heard Wilmington, Calif. referred to as "Wilmas".

It still is!

I grew up in a neighboring city.

My parents moved to San Pedro in 1956.

It wasn't a "good thing to go to "Wilmas" man".

It still ain't such a good idea.

That was back in the 50's and 60's.

I've lived here since the mid-60s and I can't believe how diffeent things are now. In the 50s and 60s Wilmington wasn't nearly as bad as its reputation. Now, however, it's worse that its reputation ever was.

From Long Beach. Worked in the Harbor for 35 years. Moved to Riverside County in 1987 due the problems infecting that whole area. Until ‘95 commuted from Riverside to the Harbor to work.

Only a few people live in our area. Mostly just empty fields and Orange Groves. Much nicer, quieter out here. Mostly Rabbits, Roadrunners, and Coyotes.
