According to TSO who was at the “Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball”, this newly sworn-in President for the first time in 56 years blew off the ball (that’s 14 Inaugurations).
Some background on the ball:
"The American Legion sponsors the ball, which recognizes recipients of Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military award. It started in 1953 for President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s first inauguration.
Event co-sponsors include 13 other veterans service organizations, among them the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Paralyzed Veterans of America."
So where was our new President instead of honoring Medal of Honor recipients who by some miracle are still alive? According to Huffington Post, this was his schedule for Inaugural celebrations:

I wonder why the organizers don’t combine the Salute to Heroes ball with the Commander-in-Chief ball. That would make sense both logistically and thematically. Unless by combining them the group gets to be too large. Just a thought....
The military got the shaft with this snub and now the reversal of Don’t ask, don’t tell.
See, in Obama's eyes, and in those of his followers, National Service is a Government Job, politics, community activism, working with or for welfare or some other social office, being a bureaucrat, pushing paper....
Police, Fire, EMTs and (especially) Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard.... those are for dregs of society.
Mitchell Paige (USMC, Guadalcanal) told me that he boycotted the event when Clinton was inaugurated; I’m assuming it was the second time around because then Willy’d had enough time in office to be despised.
Although Bill Clinton “loathed” the military he did show up to honor our heroes. I guess that Obama is giving us a message, or does he have a credible excuse?
I dunno. I don’t think he has much to say to MOH winners anyhow — and they probably had way too much they wanted to say that he didn’t want to hear.
This seems like a non-issue to me -- the transcript at Fox News shows he went to all ten of the official balls and zero of the unofficial ones, including the BET one that someone upthread is saying he went to. Considering it took them four hours to hit those ten balls, that they ended at 12:30 in the morning after so full of a day, and that the Commander-in-Chief ball, honoring the military, was among those he attended, I fail to see how this particular attack makes a lot of sense.
Your post was harmless enough but it got me to read your posting history.
Reading through all of your posts, it seems that you only post to throw a little sand into every thread, it is always soft, but no matter the topic you seem to always have the same goal.
The one thing that I can’t find in your posts is conservatism, I’m thinking a sophisticated troll has recently signed up.
