You also probably know slavbery was mandated in the colonies by King George. Seven colonies had petitioned the king to abolish his decree because they wanted to end the practice ofslavery because of religious objections to it. The King said as long as you are colonies of Great Britain, you will have slavery.
Slavery was one factor behind some of the colonies’ reasons for the revolution. Once the war began, those colonies, relatively soon, ended slavery within their borders.

We had our monthly Republican women’s luncheon yesterday. When I walked into (I’m one of the organizers), the restaurant had the coronation on a big screen tv in our private room. I looked at the banquet manager and said, “YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!.” She laughed and immediately turned it off without my saying a word!
