[President] Bush plans to start library, Freedom Institute
The Australian Broadcast Company / Agence France Presse ^ | November 23, 2008

Outgoing US President George W Bush plans to open a presidential library in Texas and found a Freedom Institute to promote democracy, his wife Laura Bush confirmed to Peru's El Comercio daily.

"The President will build a library in Dallas, where we will move to, and a Freedom Institute," she said in an interview published on Sunday, as her husband wrapped up his participation in a weekend summit in Lima by Asia-Pacific leaders.

"The institute will give us both the opportunity to work on issues that are very important to us," she said, according to the Spanish-language translation by the newspaper.

Laura Bush, a former teacher, said she wanted to return to the field of education, as well as "working for human rights for women in Afghanistan."

Mr Bush, who joked during the APEC summit about his upcoming "forced retirement," is due to hand over power to his Democrat successor Barack Obama on January 20, 2009.

US media have already quoted aides and Texas law-makers on the plans for the presidential library, in fact more of a museum, with documents and gifts accumulated during Mr Bush's time in office and the Freedom Institute.

The US publication The Week said the George W Bush Presidential Library would be built at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

It also noted Mr Bush telling a biographer that he intended to give speeches, an activity that has proved extremely lucrative for previous US leaders, notably Bill Clinton.

How about my "Freedom" to drive to the local 7-Eleven without being crashed into by a drunk illegal alien going 80 miles an hour through a stop sign.

I shudder when I think of all the "freedoms", even their very LIVES that thousands of Americans on their own soil lost under the regime of that man and an irresponsible Congress. That alone, his insane border policies for eight years, will be a permanent stain on his record I am afraid.

Does the article mention where we might send a donation to this library?

I have a number of former co-workers in academia. I want to send money in their names. It should make them all very grumpy.

Just think, in another 100 years or so, there’ll be over 100 of these useless presidential libraries, monuments to cults, vanities and bad policies. I wonder if there’ll be building replicas of those in Las Vegas, you know, like Venice and the Eiffel Tower. You bet, they won’t they’re smarter than that! And we once thought that Personality Cult died with FDR’s Uncle Joe in 1953!

There is property to be developed at the NW quadrant of Mockingbird Ln. & US 75 (Central Expressway) for the location of the Bush Library. My understanding is the shopping area at that corner will be torn down to make room (CVS, Barnes & Noble, LaMadeleine).

I would be honored to have the president near no matter how close. He often drove down a street close to our home in Los Angeles. We always went out to see him pass and wave no matter what or how many stood around with their hands in their pockets watching the procession that always comes with the U.S. President coming down the street. One time my husband said he saw him wave back at us. (It is difficult at best to see which car/SUV he is in and even to see in, but my husband sees things others do not and never says he sees anything with out being sure he saw it. So I believed it.) It was one of those times people were being exceedingly cruel to him and I felt so good to have the opportunity to wave and say we're with you Mr. President and proud.

In spite of the negatives, President Bush kept our taxes low and kept us safe from terrorist attacks and supported our military. He is a good hearted and loyal man who honors God. God bless Him and Laura and their daughters.

I guess as Russian warships line up in Venezuela and China continues to go to increased cyber attack into our national security computers on Obama’s watch maybe you'll yearn for the one thing President Bush has given us and that is Security. But hey maybe getting our country blown to bits and having the Chinese take over our homes is inviting to you. Maybe you can offer them your Hate Bush Kool Aid with the libbies.

Were George W. Bush to write his memoirs, they would be the most studied memoirs since Otto von Bismarck. Unfortunately, like the memoirs of Russian General Zhukov, they would have to be so thoroughly vetted and purged of important information, that they would be sterile.

NBC Saturday Night Live made fun of him during his first run for the presidency, with an impostor using the fake word “strategery” to describe his strategy. Little did they know that the Bush family either created, or have access to a form of strategy so advanced, that it gave both Bush presidents an incredible strategic advantage.

H.W. Bush pioneered the use of “linkages”, the awareness of, and the manipulation of the thousands of interconnections between the nations of the world. This has to be done by computer, both because of its incredible complexity, and because of its dynamic nature.

When properly manipulated, foreign policy with linkages is almost invisible, but accomplishes your objectives. The only thing it cannot provide is emotional gratification, which is the least important thing when you are playing to win, but irresistible to many.

W. Bush expanded linkage strategy into a third dimension. The results of this were impressive. For example, even before he had announced his candidacy for president for the first time, he had already won the primary, by locking up all the major party donors. By the time John McCain entered the race, it was over, and he was very bitter, thinking that he had somehow been cheated, because Bush planned ahead and he didn’t.

And again, even before the primaries had begun, W. Bush had indirectly purchased the land, and begun construction of his Crawford, Texas White House. It was finished just before Inauguration Day, with the only delay of two weeks caused by his daughters, who wanted major modifications to an indoor swimming pool.

Having locked up the primary, the campaign time was spent planning well into his first term.

So if anyone deserves a new word, for creating such an amazing capability for strategic planning, it is George W. Bush. So “strategery” should enter the lexicon as a strategic dimension more advanced than the best strategic planners in the rest of the world can produce.

And the Democrats have been convinced for eight years that he is an ignorant fool. A chimp. And he has been happy to let them keep to their ignorant and foolish superiority complex.

He is contented that, as long as America wins, emotional gratification is of no consequence. A lesson he learned well from his father.

And if this empire last 1,000 years, and I don’t see why it shouldn’t with great Imperial dynasties such as the Bushes, we’re eventually run out of real estate to build these silly monuments of lies (no different here as far as legends about legacies than the Klintoon Liebrary lies, you can be sure), and we will have to start building them to Mars. And if I’m still alive then, I’ll say, “Good riddance to bad rubbish.” Lenin’s Tomb comes to mind when anyone mentions a Presidential Liebrary.

AmericanInTokyo and I see eye-to-eye on the issue. It was a callous post, but only to illustrate the callousness of a government that pretends the country benefits from an illegal invasion. How many Americans would be alive today if we had control of our borders? Bob Clark. The girl who was killed by a drunk illegal about a week ago. The blood is on the hands of Ted Kennedy, John McCain, George Bush and anyone else working desperately to reward lawbreakers.
