Earlier today, Barack Obama’s campaign released an ad attacking John McCain for not knowing how to send an e-mail. Their crack research team apparently never heard of Google or Lexis-Nexis, but Jonah Goldberg does. He discovers why McCain doesn’t use a keyboard — his torturers made sure he couldn’t. The Boston Globe reported it eight years ago:
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.

I just finished an email to hundreds of people including a link to Obama’s ad and Jonah Goldberg’s commentary.

mccain needs to have an ad with this juxtapositioned with vets coming back with missing libs and just ask if he is going to mock my injuries, what do you think he will do to you?
During the primaries when he was looking at Hillary Clinton.
Hill was giving an interview and he was peering over her shoulder trying to get in on the action.

No, O’Reilly’s not a whore, he’s a pimp, an Obama pimp. He said on the radio that he fully expects Obama to be our next president. That’s why I’d like to see his reaction to the Obama ad and the information that Jonah Goldberg dug up.

It’s really too bad the talk radio circuit is on break over the weekend...but they’ll be back.
Let’s all imagine for a moment that McCain and Palin made three comments in relatively short order about... say, lesbians (or any other liberally protected group). Is there any doubt at all that the enemedia would lump the quotes into an endless loop and that it would be the subject of innumerable TV shows? We have the dems doing exactly that against people with disabilities.
Biden - the slam against Palin and her son (stem cells)
Biden - the “stand up Chuck” comment
0bama - the slam on McCain’s disability
Caveat: I personally don’t believe that Biden’s comment for Chuck to stand up was meant with any malice at all, but it fits the template and you know the enemedia would spin anything to be hurtful to Republicans. Hence, my inclusion.

This is not a gaffe.
It was published 8 years ago. You cannot expect anyone as computer and internet savvy as the Obama campaign to “overlook” these facts.
They just didn’t think they would be called out on it.
