Moscow: Missile Defense Deal Aimed At Weakening Russia (Warns of Possible Attack)
Associated Press ^ | August 20, 2008

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her Polish counterpart signed a deal Wednesday to build a U.S. missile defense base in Poland, an agreement that prompted an infuriated Russia to warn of a possible attack against the former Soviet satellite.

Rice dismissed blustery comments from Russian leaders who say Warsaw's hosting of 10 U.S. interceptor missiles just 115 miles from Russia's westernmost frontier opens the country up to attack.

Their Enclave Naval Base is on the border of Poland, I think the Poles and the US should take them out preemptively.

Best suggestion I've heard for a long while. Russia is very confident in its actions because it knows that there is absolutely no chance that we will respond militarily or even stage a surprise move like the one it pulled off. For a brief moment, I hoped that we might have a serious plan to back up our words, but as usual, now we're back to huffing and puffing.

I think we'd only have to do it once. They need to have an experience that makes them think long and hard about doing something like this again.

entirely socialist federocracy

Wait, I thought you said you were against this? But yet support a candidate who's voting record shows, and his statements this year related to business, medical care, free speech, immigration and the environment support his desire for socialism.

Sorry bub, our choices are terrible this year, but to throw in the towel and abandon conservatism and endorse a liberal nutcase like McCain makes a conservative with principles not be able to sleep at night... so...

There are only two rationales a "conservative" can have to support McCain:

1) They have no morals or principles, or

2) They aren't a conservative because they have no idea what that means.

The simple fact is, you can't be a conservative and support an ultra liberal like McCain.

The GOP did not receive the message of its supporters in 2006 and we can only hope they receive the message this year. The fact is, the more they move to the center, the more votes they'll lose.

I am sorry but you are the one not only throwing in the towel but hiding under a rock covering your eyes and plugging your ears. McCain is a moderate not a liberal, Obama is a Liberal with a capital ‘L’. I hate the choice we have to make this year as we have in the past couple of elections but I for damn sure am not going to abstain from voting and guarantee the socialists win. Yes McCains stance on the border and illegals irritate me, yes his McCain-Feingold pisses me off, yes other issues of his irritate me. However his stances on abortion and the courts I like, he is pro-gun, he will not cut and run from the world. Which is where I think you and other paleo-cons are at. You want to close the world into a nicely defined border where you naively believe that the world won’t harm you. Sorry but there are lot bigger issues at stake than just our southern border and MCCain-Feingold. His name is Obama, and he will destroy us. You shouldnt sit back and accept that based on some preconceived notion of principles because you will never find the perfect candidate and when you do they are completely unelectable to the masses.

I am so glad that those that came before us didn't abandon their principles as easily as you are willing to.

It's okay for you to support McCain, but don't so claiming some higher goal or that you are in fact a believer in conservative principles.

I can't imagine sleeping with a clear conscience after endorsing someone who so greatly opposes the fundamentals of one's beliefs.

It's easy to think tactically and try to win a battle only to lose the war. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions, and obviously Hussein has made you willing to abandon your principles.

I'm going to fight to win the war, and I understand you wish to lose the war to win a battle. Please don't, however, ever claim to stand or believe in anything conservative. Conservatives stand on principles, and liberals vote for their party regardless of their beliefs and principles.

People that vote for McCain can not, by their very endorsement of him, be conservatives. This isn't something that can be argued, it's just a fact.
