We should have a law that no one can sue for damages regardless of cause..if they were involved in a crime at the time. Criminal yes...Civil...no.

I’ll admit, I thought he was in serious trouble.

I don’t have a problem with him going after the robbers, but the way the whole thing went down, I thought he would suffer some legal down sides.

I do like the idea of people being able to protect property. It always seemed like a dumb thing for you to have to basically watch folks walk off with your good, unable to shoot them to stop it.

Be careful folks. Not every state is like Texas. It has its ups and its downs, but it’s property (belongings) laws are quite sound.

IIRC, Texas DOES have that law.

As the grand jury began hearing evidence in the case this month, Horn's attorney, Tom Lambright, said recently that Horn regrets his decision to confront the men.

"Was it a mistake from a legal standpoint? No. But a mistake in his life? Yes," Lambright said. "Because it's affected him terribly. And if he had it to do over again, he would stay inside.

"I don't think anybody can really appreciate the magnitude that something like this has on a person's personality."

I greatly respect Mr. Horn for what he did and feel deeply grateful for being able to live in a land that protects the rights of people to defend their liberty and property.

However everyone on the thread has so far only expressed the joy for Mr. Horn being cleared of all charges by the Grand Jury (which I am also happy for).

I feel it is necessary to point out the great personal price that Mr. Horn is paying for protecting his neighbor’s property. I hope that Mr. Horn will seek some counseling to help him heal his wounds for this ordeal.

I can not imagine what he is going through. The city ordinance banning protests in front of a residential home I think is a very good idea. This man does not deserve to be tormented by these bleeding heart liberals.

I wish the man well and pray for his recovery. He deserves peace in his heart and in his mind.

It helps greatly if you have a police detective as your primary witness to what happened. Property values in Mr. Horn’s neightorhood ought to rise significantly now that the entire country knows how safe it is.

Vindictive DAs who lose at the Grand Jury have been known to pull stunts like that including citing the cleared shooter for littering (spent casings on the ground).

I was thinking of the dead criminals as the “litter”.

That’s the entire general election caught on tape! The MSM doesn’t pay any attention at all to the “typical” people, unless it’s someone like Mr. Horn.

That tape is exactly what is going to happen come November.
