What I was told, when I was in Alberta last summer, which makes this anecdotal, is that the cost of getting the natural gas out of the ground is going up. it is not so much depleted as more difficult and therefore more expensive. This cost factor makes it unprofitable at present so they are capping some wells until the price goes up.

It is the oil industry in Alberta that is booming, particularly the tar sands.

I think there was some confusion in that discussion. They may have been referring to more expensive to drilling new wells.

But prices for Natural Gas are very high compared to historical prices.

Well...Canada is a small nation with no ability to control the price of oil. The liberal elites in Canada, especially the Gaia cultists would love to see Alberta curtail its level of oil production.

Frankly its a win win for Canada and the US. The more North American oil production the US can rely on the better - to finally be free of Islamic oil.
