For Conservatives the only hope now lies with retaking the Congress
myself | 23 January 2008 | trueblackman

Posted on 01/23/2008 7:23:23 AM PST by Trueblackman

As a true Conservative I was completely dishearted when Duncan Hunter dropped out of the race for President and I was willing to stay home this coming Election, but after a few days of deep thought, I feel like I can't stand on the sidelines as liberals in the White House and Congress have free reign to run my nation into the ground.

I served my nation with honor and pride, so I am now searching for truly Conservative Congressional Candidates to elect to majorities in both the House and Senate to limit the damage that a liberal Democrat or Republican can do to this nation.

Conservatives have to draw the line on reckless spending, government growth and massive entitlements that have never worked.

It is better to destroy within than to stand on the sidelines and do nothing.

Does the seat look like it could swing to the RATs, or is his district solidly Conservative?

it wont happen this year but theres a shot at 2010. if a dem wins the presidency, the gop will most likely win the house in 2010. the senate looks a little tougher but definitely possible. could be looking at another revolution like ‘94, after 2 years of complete liberal power (both houses of congress and presidency) ripping apart the country.

Exactly. That's really my only hope at this point.

You’re right, but we have to recruit conservative candidates to run. The usual RINOs in Congress won’t do.

I completely agree on this point. But I'm tired of being fooled by those candidates who run as conservative, or really are conservative.....UNTIL they get in office then turn left.

Please consider Dr. Deborah Travis Honeycutt, strong African American conservative in GA. Family medicine physician, active in healthcare issues, taxcuts, controlling the borders, pro life, national security, economic develppment, gun rights, and military supporter.

It is time for members of FR to run for Congress.

If only I were old enough and had a load of money to spend on it.

Buck it up.

Elect Mitt Romney President.

Voters will then, be treated to the stark comparison, daily, of our successful, smart, family-centered Republican president ... and the whining democrats as represented by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Congress will go GOP, in 2 years. Max.

Nah I would make too many enemies in both parties, as I would serve the Constitution and not special interest.

Thank you....I’m in a fighting mood also...Not ready to give up by any means. Now if we can motivate the arm-chair conservatives to quite bitching and get into action, maybe we can accomplish something.

Not so easy, I fear. A Dem Pres with a Dem Congress can wreak havoc on voting constituencies and their makeup.

You may NEVER see Repub control if you don’t block Hillabama by ANY MEANS NECESSARY.

Duncan Hunter took the seat from a democrat nearly 30 years ago so I have to believe it could stay in the hands of a man with the same name.

That’s the problem with Politics.. you MUST make deals and betray your beliefs, principles and constituents to get your bills passed, and you’re doomed to 1 term for not doing so.

Sorry I can vote for Mitt, he is a Northeastern Republican and all Northeastern Republicans are interested in is making friends and being popular with liberals, eating cheese, drinking red wine and losing elections.

Oh, yeah, it'll be fine if you want Soros running the country.

Not true.

I respect your opinion; my own is Romney’s (by far) the best GOP candidate, other than Duncan Hunter.

Voting for Mitt is voting for more of the same in my opinion. The GOP has become a pack of cowering dogs slinking along behind the democrats in hopes of picking up crumbs of support. The democrats are happily following the red brick road and following them is following the red brick road.

Keeping Hillobama out of the WH is a worthy goal for conservatives to work towards, in and of itself. If we fail, we may not have a chance to come back in 2010 or 2012.
