Gee with all of this "I will have to hold my nose" I'm thinking about starting a scented clothes pin business. Now what scents to offer, decisions decisions....

An easier decision than being forced to vote for a Rino. Eegad. Ron Paul will probably be the 3rd party (constitution) choice so I don't even have that one to fall back on. No matter what looks like I'm going to need one of those clothes pins.

Third Part. McCain is a Democrat in RINO clothing. I will NOT vote for him and I will campaign for the third party.

You are being quite short sighted in your analysis. First, I doubt most consider Bush too conservative. His disapproval rating is due to many things including failing the nation on conservative issues. Many are upset with his big spending habits, his failure to enforce the border, and his failure to support Israel. His problems in the Iraq War are noted by conservatives and liberals. So, Bush’s problems are not due to his conservative positions.

Second, if the nation elects a Dem and it is a disaster, who will the country turn to? It will be to my 20% party that supported true conservative principles. If you elect a liberal disguised as a conservative and it is a disaster, you have destroyed the GOP and have placed the Dems in power for years. Think through the 1976 election and maybe you will understand.

The leadership of the Republican Party.

I've been hearing this "vote for the lesser of two evils" crap for decades.

What has it gotten us?

Evil.

Count me out.

And don't blame me if evil (whether lesser or greater) gets elected.

Blame the people who voted for evil. Especially blame the people who voted for evil in the primaries ... and blame the party hacks who gave institutional support to evil.

If you have to "hold your nose" ... you're voting for evil.

To all those of you who jabber about "holding your nose".

The Republican Party doesn't give a $#!+ what you do with your nose. All they care about is what you do with your ballot.

If you (continue to) cast your ballot for a lightweight socialist, they'll know that they can continue to serve up lightweight socialist candidates, without consequence.

That's nice, if you're a lightweight socialist.

If you're conservative, or libertarian, or federalist ... it's stupid.

I'll tell you what's stupid: Your post is stupid.

The Republican Party is made up of individuals. You aren't a Republican, evidenced by your repeated use of the pronoun "they" to refer to members of the party.

As a non-Republican, it behooves you to foster the defeat of Republican Presidential candidates.

As a Republican and a conservative, it behooves me to foster the defeat of Democrat Presidential candidates, as even RINOs are more conservative than ther Socialists currently comprising the Democrat Party.

Non-Republican "conservatives" are all phony, because they enable the election of Democrats like Edwards, Obama and Hillary.

NO CONSERVATIVE ENABLES SUCH SCENARIOS BY VOTING THIRD-PARTY OR BY STAYING HOME.

You guys are as transparent as Hillary's tears.

Third Party. Wayne Allyn Root, the pro-war Libertarian, is looking pretty good right now.

from the number of posts even here in FR - with their blindness - I guess I'll crank up my old singer sewing machine and crank out burkas - and hopefully make enough money to disappear deep into the woods somewhere for a few years of safety -

I don't know who frightens me more - letting the Socialists in or people whose egos get in the way of common sense...

Looks like it'll be 2006 all over again - "teach the pubbies a lesson" - that worked out well = gave us Reid and Pelosi...

and it looks like none of you who cut off your noses to spite your face then have learned a da*m thing.

Remember how we ended up with 8 years of the Clintons? It pains me to admit that because Bush 41 pulled out of Iraq without taking out Saddam, I voted third party.

UNLESS YOU WANT HILLARY OR OBAMA, DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID IN ‘92.

Hunter or Thompson are my first choices, but I will absolutely support McCain if he gets the nomination.

I don’t trust Snake/Maverick McCain. But I trust the leftist/socialist DemocRat candidates even LESS.

So yes.

I’ll do what I gotta do (per usual) to try to keep the DemocRats from sliming their way back into power.

Sidenote: In this current political system and environment.....voting for a third party equates to essentially:

a) wasting your vote, b) throwing the election to the DemocRats, c) a really, really stupid thing to do.

I wish it were not so. But that’s the reality.

We have a country here with 300 million plus people, nonsense about a political party “deserving” Hilary or Obama is just that. Sorry, but soreheads like you are part of the problem.

Third Party - Better to go outside the party than to reward them for going down the toilet with McCain.

I see, so your clever plan is to elect democrats and hope they are a disaster. For that matter, since whenever dems govern it is necessarily a disaster, and whenever republicans who aren't conservative enough for you govern it is also necessarily a disaster, you are simply guaranteed a disaster unless your favorite guys are in office. And after each disaster, the electorate always sees this and goes right to your guys. Now I understand why conservatives have won every (or every other) election since Jefferson, it is so clear.

But anyone interested in winning this one has to go elsewhere. You've nothing to offer them, but smugness about ensuing national disaster.

No question, yes.
I will vote for any Republican over the pro New Deal, pro anti-military, pro baby killing Rat nominee.
Except for Ron Paul.

But I will work to get a better crop of candidate in the meantime. If I am doing that I have earned the right to complain. If I don’t help to get better Rep’s nominated; I have no right to complain.
