BUT...I would grudgingly have to vote for him, if he’s running with a more conservative VP candidate (Cheney, again?)

Cheney won't be running for anything again.

But a McCain/Thompson ticket would be balanced geographically and ideologically.

Mccain-FeinGold can be used to shut down talk radio or blogs and web sites like Freerepublic too.

Bradley Smith says that the freewheeling days of political blogging and online punditry are over. In just a few months, he warns, bloggers and news organizations could risk the wrath of the federal government if they improperly link to a campaign's Web site. Even forwarding a political candidate's press release to a mailing list, depending on the details, could be punished by fines.

Smith should know. He's one of the six commissioners at the Federal Election Commission, which is beginning the perilous process of extending a controversial 2002 campaign finance law to the Internet

You are right that we can't stay home because we have to vote for the Senate and the House on election day .so as much as I hate Huckabee and McCain I'll try to stop my attacks on those who call themselves Republicans. I didn't think of that or that far ahead.

You DO understand that “conservative” and “Republican” are two different things, do you not?

Why do so many ignorant posters at Free Republic ask this asinine question?

Republicans aren't necessarily ideological conservatives on every issue, although some are...but even RINOs are infinitely more conservative than Democrats.

Now why don't you address my questions about Reagan and Schweiker and Reagan and GHW Bush? Did Reagan compromise or not?

I’d probably end up voting for him, but I wouldn’t call that supporting him. I wouldn’t lift a finger to help his campaign.

The naivete of FReepers who do not know the danger this woman poses astounds me.

God bless you. I have watched the Clintons from the very beginning, circa 1980. Most people have no idea who they really are. Tony Soprano is a sissy.

I took an oath last summer to never, ever, under any circumstances vote for any politician who voted in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens. I will not violate that oath.

I would hold my nose and vote for him. The only two I would never vote for are Rudy and Ronnie.

Of course I will support John McCain.

I think he could only handle 1 term anyway and I think he would prosecute the war properly.

I support Fred but if he can't win SC I suppose he will support John and so will I.

I would even support a McCain/Rudy ticket.

Hey, I thought I couldn't support Huckabee but after seeing Bill and Hillary performing their sinister act the past couple days, I would have to support him.

You right on target about the Clinton’s.

The first time that I saw their picture on the capitol steps holding their daughter, in the Memphis Commerical Appeal red flags went up. I wasn’t disappointed.

McCain is neither of the other two (WOT and National Defense) if he’s also pro-illegal immigration.

How do you think the nutjobs are actually going to get to us? Via landing craft?

They’re going to come across the, um, border if you want to call it that, and they are going to hit us.

Let’s face it folks, 50% of your compatriots rank at, or below the 50th percentile of the intelligence quotient. That’s why (within the popular culture) we’re referred to as a Democracy, (you know-where the majority rules)! Unless these people are dis-enfranchised (which ain’t gonna happen), you’ll be faced with this conundrum in perpetuity. I’m considering registering as a Republican, just so I can draw a Republicant ballot for the California primary and vote for Duncan Hunter! Will Hillary be as hysterical when POTUS?

I’m voting for McCain. He’s strong on the WOT, and that’s the only thing that matters this election.

Mccain-FeinGold can be used to shut down talk radio or blogs and web sites like Freerepublic too.

Mcain is not a socialist? Then what do you call someone who wants to empower goveernment to censor political speech including the internet?

So do conservatives or socialists want to end free speech and censor the internet and spend 10 years plotting with Soros groups to do it?

Also McCain voted against the Bush Tax cuts which also proves he is a socialist. also McCain is for giving Amnesty to 30 million illegals which is cultural Marxism and would give us millions more Democrat voters.

I know there are hundreds of other examples but I don't have time to look them up.

The 1994 Republican congress did a lot of conservative things including welfare reform , the Bush tax cuts, grid locking Clinton , didn't raise taxes, and not allowing the Clintons to nationalize the healthcare industry.

If the party is STUPID enough to put up anyone but Thompson, then they deserve Clinton, Obama, or worse.

One of these days, the Democrats, Republicans, and Appropriators in DC are going to have to start acting like adults and less like geriatric adolescents. Same with the voters.

Time to stick to your principals, when your party abandons theirs.
