Fundamentalist Islam Finds Fertile Ground in Bosnia

By Renate Flottau in Sarajevo, Bosnia

The Dayton Peace Accords called for the removal of foreign combatants from Bosnia after the Balkans war. But hundreds of mujahedeen fighters stayed, and today they are successfully spreading their fundamentalist Islamist views.

AP

A mosque in Sarajevo: Bosnia has seen a surge in its Muslim population of al-Qaida sympathizers. Thick iron bars block the entrance to Abu Hamza's store in Sarajevo's Islamic shopping center. Affixed to the bars is a handwritten note: "My Bosnian citizenship has been revoked. I have to defend myself, and for this reason my store is only open sporadically."

Abu Hamza, a bearded 42-year-old man originally from Syria, sits in his store among colorful veils and gold-embroidered tunics and speaks in a gentle voice about Bosnia's fate. He believes that there will be either an evolution of true Islam or a revolution.

Abu Hamza is one of the stars among the missionaries who want to spread a strict interpretation of Islam in Bosnia. He came here in the early 1990s, one of thousands who aided their Muslim brothers in the war against the Serbs. In return, they were given Bosnian citizenship.

This meant that they were "nationalized" and thereby did not fall under the provisions of the Dayton Peace Accords, which stipulated that all foreign combatants had to leave the country. The United States in particular was annoyed by the trick and, under pressure from Washington, a Bosnia government commission revoked the Bosnian citizenship of nearly 400 "suspected mujahedeen of foreign heritage," including Abu Hamza. The suspects are believed to have ties to Islamic terrorists.

Bill Clinton, a foreign affairs (i.e., in the political sense, not the extra-marital sense) naif if ever there was one. The only American president who was more clueless than The Bent One was Jimmy Carter.

Here are my thoughts on the subject.

For all the dumba***s that brought the stupid ad which appeared on page 6A in today's Oklahoman (11-11-07) I'd like for you to read this article and answer one simple question.

Is this the kind of religion you want us to sing kumbya with? Just FYI these are the kinds of people (Fundamental Islamists) who want to dominate this country. They want Islamic law to replace the U.S. Constitution as the Supreme law of the land.

If we let these kooks have their way, America is going to cease to exist. You'd best think about that before you start going and spouting out this diversity B.S. and C.F. about how we need to get along with this bunch.

These kooks don't wnat to get along with us. They want to annihilate us. Sorry, but there's no getting along whatsoever with these kook fringe groups.

Regards.......

Sorry, but there's no getting along whatsoever with these kook fringe groups.

"Moderate Islamists" are too easily turned into kook fringe jihadis.

Islam sets itself above the state; it is therefore in antipathy to all religious freedom under the Constitution. Hence, it is impossible for an Islamist to participate honestly in the social contract that is the Constitution. They should thus all be deported.

Oh, my goodness. You mean those nice freedom-loving victims of evil Christian genocide, the Saudi-backed Muslim narcoterrorists of Kosovo weren't sincere about wanting peace after Xlinton moved us in under the U.N. banner to help them massacre Serbia Christians?

Well, at least it is so much better now that the current Republican administration continues to help and encourage the narcoterrorists to take Kosovo and perpetrate more genocide against Serbian Christians.

The Serbs need to appeal to the Russians for help, prepare their population for a bombing campaign from our air force, and drive these Muslims out, once and for all. And to do it irrevocably. Their homes and businesses should be burned or razed to the ground. Leave nothing to which they can return, no sign that they ever lived there. But do not take their houses and buildings.

I hope Serbia will stand up for themselves and for Christian eastern Europe. This is the frontline against the Muslim takeover of Europe, a goal they've held for many centuries, one which is actively aided and abetted by the current and the previous administration and many in both parties.

Here in America, we must be prepared to pull out the stops to try to prevent the Senate from voting to recognize any declaration of independence by the Albanian/Kosovo narcoterrorist element. And to loudly support the Serbs in defending themselves against the U.N. and the United States.

It's not a Religion Of Peace™. Choose whether you stand with the antichrist elements of the U.N. in their attempt to enlarge Saudi/Albanian radical Muslim rule in Europe or for the faithful Orthodox of Serbia. I am for the Serbs.

I am not for the Russians. I am for the Serbs. I fully support them resisting the U.N./American pro-narcoterrorist takeover of their lands and the inevitable rape gangs and ethnic cleansing that will follow. They are patriots, defending their own homes and their country.

Ever wish you could upset all the "moderates" and "those in the big political 'middle'?" Just refer to some element in society as "Fundamentalist" whatever! It doesn't matter if it's Muslims, Christians, or even Constitutionalists!!!

But for some strange reason you never hear of Fundamentalist Environmentalists, or Fundamentalist Socialists, or Fundamentalist Bhuddists, Hindus, Unitarians or even Fundamentalist Governmental Unionists! And I'll guarantee you'll never hear of a Fundamentalist Globalist!!! So why is that???

I’m still waiting to see all the tens of thousands of bodies supposedly murdered by Serbian “genocide”, which caused us to destroy them and establish a Al Queda vassal state in Europe. Meanwhile the Muslims will make sure to create a genocide of their own, thanks to Clinton, the U.N., Weasley Clark and Richard Holbrooke—and the spineless Republicans who fell for the bullsh*t they were shoveling.

Thanks for being consistent. I remember FR as united against Xlinton and the U.N., including supporting the soldier who refused to wear the blue helmet.

Met a relatively recent bosnian immigrant. From what I could tell, given the right circumstances, he’s a prime candidate for SJS (Sudden Jihadi Syndrome).

The hard truth is, that the Serbians had it right on how to deal with Islam.

Islamic version of "ethnic cleansing": if you don't get rid of us, WE will get rid of YOU. The Serbians understood this, and pro-actively defended themselves.

And we bombed them for it.

I was for the Serbians - I want Islam defeated, and then to see it disappear.

No apologies and no regrets.

"...and pro-actively defended themselves"

Wasn't pro-actively as the Muslims initiated the killing by spraying a Serbian wedding party in Sarajevo with bullets. It killed the father of the groom and injured several others. After this the Serbs in the city started putting up barricades and the city and then the country became divided. The Muslims had been preparing and smuggling weapons for the war for well over a year before it started. Don't buy that they weren't armed as they massacred retreating Yugoslav soldiers - who'd given up their arms, breaking their agreement to allow them to peacefully leave the country which up to a few weeks before was part of Yugoslavia.

The liberal-controlled media didn't speak or highlight what the Muslims were doing from the beginning of the war. They were claiming the Muslims didn't have weapons, yet they were ambushing Serbs and sniping and killing scores at a time:

Jurišić from Tuzla is accused of ordering an attack in 1992 during the Bosnian conflict, in his capacity back then as a member of a reserve Bosnian police unit and a senior officer in the Security Information Service, on a Yugoslav National Army (JNA) convoy .

At least 92 soldiers died in the attack, 33 were wounded, while the majority of military and sanitary vehicles involved were destroyed.

Under the order, snipers in nearby buildings first opened fire and killed the drivers of the military vehicles, thus bringing the vehicles to a halt and blocking the escape route. They then opened fire on the soldiers inside the vehicles, who were neither ready for battle nor capable of offering resistance, according to the indictment.

The snipers continued firing as the soldiers started jumping out of the vehicles.

According to the indictment, the Yugoslav National Army (JNA) convoy had respected the Decision of the Bosnian Presidency on Peaceful Withdrawal of Troops from the Territory of Bosnia-Hercegovina, the Bosnian-Yugoslav Treaty on Peaceful Withdrawal and the guarantees given...
