Scarborough is simply a pandering MSNBC imbecile originally hired into the "mainstream" socialist news media as part of a warped program of "affirmative action" in which Republicans were to be given a voice. Since George W. Bush is associated with the Republican party, which is definitely adversarial toward the Democratican party, then he cannot by definition be “Democratic” in any manner. Therefore, he is “against” democracy.

But then, so are the Democraticans.

I have always leaned toward the term “representative republic” as a description of what our government is really supposed to be. A part of the population, divided by geographic regions, is given the franchise to vote for someone to represent them at a council devoted to the creation of legislative matters, and further to select who among a smaller number, may be chosen to provide executive control of the government. At the background, providing an overview of the legislative and executive decisions, is the board of judges, who determine what is legal or illegal, according to historic decisions and the basic doctrine by which the political unit is to be governed. These judges may either be selected by the executive and confirmed by the vote of the legislative council, or be subject to a popular vote by the citizens empowered with the franchise to vote.

A “democracy” simply takes a popular vote on everything, majority rules, all dissent is shut down once an issue is decided.

It isn’t who votes and how, then, it is who counts the votes.

Yes, I overlooked this. Sorry again. Interesting thing, I have a friend in California in Law Enforcement (democrat) that was ranting last week about how we have lost all our rights. I told him, I do not notice a difference in my life and there is nothing I was doing before 9/11 to now that I do differently. I asked him what he has change for him. He said everything, and all I could do was laugh. I told him he sounded like a Pelosi minion and he got irritated and claimed he was changing parties to be an independent.
