“Nothing and I mean nothing, can’t be politicized..”

That’s the whole point of radical leftism, of course. But you already knew that.

I know I’m late to the party, I can’t post from work. I was reading your comments today re Gretchen & Kiran.

Gretchen, Republican although a moderate one from MN.

Quote from Kiran Chetry during the 2000 primaries:

“Oh John Edwards? I think he’s just dreamy!”

That’s the last time I ever gave any credibility to anything coming out of Ms. Chetry’s mouth. I don’t care so much she’s a lib but the fact that she’s such an airhead she’d vote for someone because they’re “dreamy”?

*gag*

I saw Katie Couric doing her horrible report. She said, (paraphrasing) "Gov Pawlenty has said that 80(?) percent of the bridges in Minnesota have a deficient rating."

And then she added "as if that makes us feel better"

What an utterly juvenile and irresponsible thing to say at this time and in this location.

She then read parts of Nick the Unbearable Liberal's column, proudly announcing it was from the sickle.

A truly shameless opportunist she is. Thanks Katie, for reminding me why I can't stand you. Now get out of Minnesota.

What's more disturbing is that she finds Edwards "dreamy"!!!

Yreah well, Chuck Hagel is a Republican too.

Neither one of them is a conservative by any stretch of the imagination.

There was a video of it actually collapsing on Fox News...some amateur film, but it was very chilling.

I hope they scrutinize it VERY carefully and get to the
bottom of what happened. I wish the finger-pointing
hadn’t already started, but we could have predicted
that it would.

I’m confused as to why the family of the 60 yr. old woman who died were not told officially until about an hour ago.

Last nite they announced seven dead, today they brought it down to four.

This evening they announced the four identities. I had assumed when they announced the four dead last nite that they had the bodies in possession or in the hospital.

I wonder why they would wait so long to let the family identify the body or tell the family that they have this car in the water or under the bridge. I’m asking, due to the fact that the family gave interviews, and they seemed totally clueless.

Katie’s an idiot. MN is ranked #3 in the nation in our bridge inspection ratings. He said 80,000 bridges in the Country have a structural deficiencies rating which is true.

It dont take a rocket scientist to figure out that the top chord of that bridge failed first. Why arent there close up photos of the anchorage, etc by now.

Have you tried monitoring Minneapolis' local TV stations? They had some structural engineers and a couple bridge inspectors on last night who you should hear.

http://www.kare11.com had a good feed last night.

Have you checked through all of YouTube's collection?

Right, but she took every opportunity to try to spin it to make Pawlenty appear totally arrogant and uncaring. The usual spin.

Thank you terilyn. You saw the point I was making. We have plenty of good folks up here, as you well know. Even within St. Paul proper, where I live, there are a decent number of conservatives.

I also would like to note that this is rather ironic coming from a person from Maryland, a more liberal state than Minnesota. That’s not meant to be a knock on the whole state of Maryland - I’m sure there are plenty of good folks there too. But that’s the whole point - disparaging an entire state is completely uncalled for, especially right after a tragedy has struck in said state.

I also think it’s worth noting that politics don’t determine everything. Minnesota may be a “blue” state, but I find that most of it’s people (even the DFLers) are nice, genuine people. Minnesota liberals are generally different from the ones that live out on the coasts. That’s why I continue to be proud to call Minnesota home, high taxes and liberalism aside. Similarly, I’ve been to many “red” states, especially in the South, where I found the people to be very rude and off-putting. If you view your whole life through the lens of partisan politics, then you can’t possibly appreciate life.

Terilyn, I hope that all of your loved ones are safe. I’ve confirmed that all of mine are.

Silvie - perhaps you should come here sometime. You’ll find out how wrong your perceptions of our fine state are.

The usual spin.

It gets monotonous doesn't it?

I don't know if you heard Soucheray's show today. Couric is an idiot, as if we didn't know that already.

According to the stats Joe had, Minnesota is third in the nation for bridge safety behind Nevada and Arizona. It breaks down to about 8% with varying degrees of deficiency on a scale from one to four. The 35 W bridge was a 2.

Most of the bridges that fell in the deficiency rating were there because the newer large trucks couldn't fit under them since the bridges were built, thus truck reroute roads.

The libs are in full "Katrina mode," spinning the truth to blame it all on evil conservatives.

Makes me want to vomit with all those poor peoples's bodies still floating in the river. The usual MSM spinmeisters are sheer evil in my mind. I don't know whether to laugh at the absurdity or cry.

All I can figure is mass confusion. We’re just not used to this sort of thing ‘round here.

The scariest part of what Katie screwed up is that so many in this country will take those figures at face value and never question that they were completely wrong. Then...who gets blamed? The local guy who had it right....NOT Katie the Horrible who misquoted his figures!
