The castle law in TX essentially says that your Car is an extension of your home and you have the right to carry in you car and defend yourself from your car. I like that extension!

Ex-cop against common folks defending themselves. Nothing new there, even if you take off the ex part.

hope he gets sued by the perps, and arrested by his buddies.
Would be a well-earned payback for stupidity and liberalism.

He's a democrat, of course.

Hey, I’m a lawmaker; I don’t have to observe the law. I AM the law.

Louisiana has a similar law on the books already I've lived in both New Orleans and Houston, so I'm glad to hear that both States have this law.
When I lived in New Orleans, there was a string of robberies where some punks would hang around a traffic light. They were looking for cars driven by women, who would rest their hand bags in the passenger seat. The cars they favored were blocked in by other cars (so there would be no escape).
What these punks did was throw a brick through the passenger window, grab the hand bag, and run.
Well, they made the mistake of trying it on an off duty police woman. She was able to react fast enough to grab the arm of the assailant with one hand, and with the other she grabbed her pistol and shot him - dead.
There were never any more robberies like this in New Orleans.

He’s not conflicted at all. He’s a liberal, so his only belief is: Whatever I want to do, I should be able to do. I want what I want, when I want it.

Funny thing is, he believes in the RKBA. The article notes he's licensed to carry concealed. Even liberals EX-COPS don't completely trust the police. Makes you wonder what he knows about his former peers?

Well, he could be sued in a civil case, but no criminal court in Tx would hold him liable

Hey gunowners.....here’s a heads-up on a new OSHA proposed rule making regarding the re-defining of the meaning of “explosives” to include small arms ammo. Imagine a Wal Mart store that sells guns and ammo, and along comes a thunderstorm in the vacinity, they’d have to evacuate the store under the new rule!!
Look it up on the NRS home page. Just today OSHA extended the comment period from July 12 th to Sept. 10th, so there’s plenty of time to mount an effort to beat it down.
The proposed rule is Docket No. OSHA-2007-0032
