For some reason, party loyalists (especially Democrats) do not hold the VP nominee responsible for a defeat. In fact, the VP on the losing ticket is almost automatically considered in the running for the job in the next election.
Blinky's not going to argue electability, he's surely got some well-hidden dirt available for right after the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries. He's essentially lived in Iowa since 2004, and probably has it all sewn up. He's looking for the big mo from that state, plus a good showing in NH to set the stage for some sort of bombshell surprise about Hillary, or both Clintons. That's the trial lawyer in him, don't let the other side see your hand, if you can avoid it.
When you consider her unelectability, and Obama's inexperience, Silky Pony hopes that Rat voters see only one choice to defeat the Republicans, who by then will have Fred Thompson as a giant. He'll try to cast it as the young pretty boy, versus the tired old man, and use that imagery to con the Rats into accepting him, even in the South.
Of course, Obama will be popular with black voters in the South, but that will make the nomination a game of keep-away from Hillary. Edwards would gladly put Obama in the VP spot on the ticket, and if Obama has less than a third of the delegates going into the convention, he's wise enough to accept it. Giving the nation it's first black VP will be Edwards' selling point to get votes in the South in the general election.
Bottom line is, we had better hope that Hillary wins, and does so early. The voters will have nine months for Clinton fatigue to set in, and that will help our entire party, all the way down to local elections.
:) Just had rib eyes on Friday night. Delicious ont he grill.
” I wonder if Hillary had the foresight to steal Thompsons F.B.I. files...? “
She tried, but they burst into flame at her touch.
I wouldn’t doubt it!
If she can’t dig up something bad to say about him, she’ll just lie.
It’s so much easier when you’re a total liar...whatever props up your agenda can just roll right out of your mouth.
Did you ever notice that--beyond the obvious wonderful symbolism of the soldier--hillary has horns--red horns?
I was saying what this guy is saying a couple of years ago, but the Republicans haven’t kept up their end of the bargain. Unless they come to, and right themselves, I think a huge number of conservative voters will either vote 3rd party or stay home, regardless of Clinton.
Interesting. I wonder why they didn’t discuss the possibility of Rudy McRomney vs. Hilly or “1%” Hunter vs. Hilly? IMHO, the answer is pretty obvious. Most people expect Fred to win the nomination, and win it easily. And I agree. He will.
