No senator. If you vote for this, YOU are a dead duck. No more qwacks for you.

If your senator has felt your fire before, now it is time to give them an inferno. The rags are rattling about that this is done, time to get the fork, but insiders keep viewing tomorrow’s vote as being close, but one that will be a failure to protect this nation, a failure to punish the lawbreakers, a failure to do their sworn duty.

Some Hispanic groups and union leaders pleaded with senators not to give up. "Failure is not acceptable," said Cecilia Munoz, a vice president at the National Council of La Raza. "The choice is between acting and not acting. For the Latino community, the only option is to act."

Remember how we were told in recent days that left-wing immigration advocacy groups were very reluctant about the bill, because it was purportedly so unfavorable to the immigrants?

Looks like that was just PR spin to try to make people think the bill was centrist. Now when the fate of the bill hands in the balance, La Raza is pleading for its passage.

We can’t let it advance! We need a new bill, one that covers putting a wall along the ENTIRE border with NO strings attached. And then, we need a second bill that deports every single illegal immigrant, no strings attached.

President Bush and Senators: Stop trying to win new votes and actually do what must be done to protect our country!!!!!

If the bill dies the next step is to pressure our arrogant, transnationalist, elected officials to actually enforce the immigration laws already on the books. All of ‘em. And then to rescind the anchor baby provision of the 1965 Immigration Act. Lotta work ahead of us.

Thought this was interesting ... Coleman must be referring to the same "budgetary point of order" that Senator Bond was talking about on Hannity the other day.

Not to excuse Coleman at all ... but it sounds like in the event we lose tomorrow, there may be one more trench to fall back to in the Senate before we retreat to the House.

Praying it doesn't come to that ....

Not all senators consider this morning's vote the key showdown, and say if the bill survives, there are other chances to defeat it.

Sen. Norm Coleman, Minnesota Republican, said he plans to vote to proceed with the debate, but expects another 60-vote showdown on another parliamentary maneuver, known as a "point of order." Mr. Coleman said if the bill is not changed to his liking by then, he could join in voting to block it.

And someone call George Bush and tell him to clean up the grafitti off the walls of our public library. I stop by my local library today to return some books, and the entire street facing side of the building, and the front entry, as well as a near by home and fences, have Mexican gang grafitti. So while you all are calling the Congress critters, call that do nothing but big spending Bush to get over here and clean up this grafitti off the walls of our public library. In fact, get his whole family over here, and all of his relatives to clean up this crap, it’s his fault.

It never had to begin with and the proponents had no interest in ensuring the rewards for illegals would be excised from the measure. They just want to reward them and they don't understand what the fuss is all about. As far they're concerned, illegals are docile and will do as they're told, unlike Know Nothing Americans. That's the attraction for them in supporting amnesty.

Don’t even think of the next step yet, this beast ain’t dead yet.

Before you turn in for the evening, send out one last round of emails, faxes or calls to the Senators on the fence.

If you get a busy signal at this hour, call the branch office, here is where to find all the branch numbers:

These jokers should be twitchin like a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs by the time that vote comes up later this morning.

Everyone should check out the following link:

http://www.thecapitolist.com/posts?page=10

Got this e-mail from last night on my House e-mail address:

No No No!

I cannot believe the senate has gone as far as to betray the people of these

United States
by voting for the continuation of this horrific bill.

You can mark my words that these traitors political careers are over! We Will stand up and vote!

This is Taxation WITHOUT representation and the senate Does Not represent the American People!”
I love it when constituents (or in this case, some whack-job who has my e-mail address) say things like “mark my words.” Right before I blocked his address, I replied that in fact, the immigration vote will not change the outcome of a single Senate election...

First of all, Arlen, try tripling that 12 million number. .....at miminum. Secondly, if we cut off their welfare freebies, went after their employers, rescinded the anchor baby laws, and commenced the deportation process you can bet your jack boots the majority of illegals would beat path back across the border. But of course you already know that.

How about enforcing the laws, Senator? You believe some people don't have to obey and the perception of the American people is you don't believe in the compact that binds the governing with the governed. If you feel free to abrogate that compact, then the American people are released from having to abide by it as well.

The employers should also be held strictly accountable for not hiring ILLEGAL aliens!!!

Democratic leaders have said they can deliver about 40 votes for the bill and called on President Bush and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to deliver at least 20 votes. Democrats said if the bill fails, Mr. Bush will get the blame.

And if the bill passes, Mr. Bush will get the blame.

Seriously, the fact that 40 Democrats (the majority party in the chamber, btw) want this and the Pubbies are having trouble scaring up 20 tells you all you need to know about which party will benefit from the bill.

If we didn't have so many "electable" Rove RINOs in the Senate this bill would have been dead a long time ago.

To our wonderful Senator Specter: The long-lasting black eye that you receive when this amnesty bill is defeated will not be beautiful to you. However, those of us who love liberty and freedom of speech and our ability to exercise our rights when it comes to legislation will see much beauty in your defeat, Senator Specter, and the defeat of any members of Congress who oppose the will of the American People.

Or what might also work is an executive branch willing to enforce the laws we already have.

Congress has already authorized a 700+ mile border fence. But if you haven’t noticed, we have an executive branch that isn’t concerned in the slightest in seeing its completion. If we don’t put in a President in favor of that fence going up, it’s our own fault.

We might get a Senate or a Congress willing to place massive fines on businesses who hire illegals, but if you remember, we had that Senate, that Congress, and that President, and they sold us out.

We need an executive who isn’t afraid to put the wrath of the American people upon Congress and turn up the cooker a few hundred degrees. Bush hasn’t been able to do that on a single issue, much less one where he’s determined to enrage his base.
