“Creating a terrifying threat - hydra-like, secretive, evil - is an old trick.”

Can you say “global warming?”

The number 1 thing that must be done, which these MScuM and the Democra#s constantly (or at least used to) push: DISARM THE POPULATION!

He’s just taken six years so far. He’ll be able to transfer the project to his cohort in crime in 2008 when the Democrats win the WH by controlling the MSM.

"Other harassment is more serious: the American Civil Liberties Union reports that thousands of ordinary American anti-war, environmental and other groups have been infiltrated by agents: a secret Pentagon database includes more than four dozen peaceful anti-war meetings, rallies or marches by American citizens in its category of 1,500 "suspicious incidents"."

This is ALL I needed to read to know this whole thing was a complete liberal whining session...

(1) It's the America-hating Gruniad.

(2) It's interesting that the Gruniad singles out Hitler and Pinochet - a non-Communist leftist and a conservative, respectively - and ignores Communist dictators of the past like Stalin, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh; Communist dictators who are still with us, like Mugabe and Castro and Communist dictators who are just getting started, like Chavez.

(3) The Gruniad ignores the fact that Hitler and Pinochet, two very different individuals with very different philosophies who made radically different responses, were both confronted not with imaginary enemies but with large and well-armed cadres of enemies who were willing to use force to impose Communist totalitarianism on their countries.

(4) Unlike 1930s Germany or 1970s Chile, 2000s America does not have large cohorts of violent Communists calling for the overthrow of the government.

The Gruniad allows its deep and abiding love for Communist dictatorships and its late-stage BDS to blind it to reality.

8. Control of the press.

Right. Like the press that declared Iraq was a quagmire after 2 weeks. Or that declared that sexual assault was enough to keep a Republican off of the Supreme Court or be removed from the Senate but thought rape by a Democrat was his own personal matter? That press? Or faked documents are evidence but real stolen evidence isn't newsworthy? The list goes on and on.

I don't understand why "infiltration" of anti-American groups is injurious to civil liberties.

What are these groups scared of? What are they trying to hide?

Are government employees the only Americans deprived of the right of association?

Jeez, Guardian readers still buy this “Bush=Hitler” nonsense? President Bush's 2nd term is almost over! Soon he'll be gone! Imagine a headline: “Hitler's presidency ended. Führer retreats to his ranch.” Don't they realize how unreal that sounds? Poor idiots.

You mean like when Tim Robbins’ whine about being censored was broadcast over 2,500 radio stations?

Support came from a quarter I hadn’t counted on. It was [Gunther] Grass, speaking in English.

“For the past hour I have had my eyes fixed on the door here,” he said. “You talk about fascism and police repression. In Germany when I was a student, they come through these doors long ago. Here they must be very slow.”

— Tom Wolfe, The Intelligent Coed’s Guide to America.
