Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

On social issues, Rudy is liberal. On everything else, he’s a conservative.

My right to self-defense is NOT a social issue. See the Bill of Rights.

Expecting a well protected border from illegal invasion is NOT a social issue. See Preamble of the Constituion.

Debunking means proving the statements false, not making other statements about other facts that don’t refute the facts presented.

I will support the Republican nominee....period.

With the democrats swinging to the moonbat realm and a sizable chunk of the country following them, I can't afford to be ideologically "pure". If Rudy gets the nod I won't like it but I won't sit out the election or vote 3rd party.

Jim,

I hope most folks remember this:

“We got Bush as the nominee in 2000 because he was the “anointed one.” He was selected by the PTB (whoever the hell they are) and proclaimed “frontrunner” and de facto nominee by the media and all pundits before anyone else could even get out of the starting gates. He was ramrodded through over the objections from the grassroots.”

I know some will argue with you, but that is what happened. I hope it doesn’t happen again.

Rudy is a flawed character that the MSM will ignore until the home stretch. Rudy will think things are a cake walk. Then they will attack him without mercy in the final weeks before the election. Rudy will not know what hit him. The conservative electorate will be so turned off, they will not go to the polls. The grass roots, the legs of the campaign, will not man the telephone banks, walk the precincts, or wave the signs. Any effort to rehabilitate the campaign by going to the airwaves will be a futile waste of money. Rudy will go down in flames and the DemonRATs know it. They know just the tactics to take him down.

Whoops! Those GDP figures should be in billions of dollars (not millions) and you’re welcome!

Benedict Arnold won several battles and received many medals and commendations. And then...

So now supporting anyone other than whoever your personal choice is for the GOP is traitorous? I have reiterated repeatedly here that I will vote for whoever the Republican nominee is in the general election (with the exception of Pat Robertson or any other TV preacher).

In the primaries, though, I'm voting for Giuliani (though since I'm in Hawaii and our primary is very late it really won't matter). I'm not going to try to denigrate whoever that person turns out to be. But if you can't convince the majority of Republicans to vote for your favorite at the primary level, how the heck do you ever expect to attract more votes in the general election?

If that makes me a traitor, then I guess 90% of the public is likely traitorous, since they don't agree with you.

But, we dont have to have Hillary-Carter to destroy OUR nation while we wait.

Thank you! I honestly believe that a Hillary Clinton presidency could push up into civil war.

Hunter can't win. He barely registers in the polls, has little name recognition, no money and no charisma. I understood that about Hunter before I read anything the media said about him. BTW, The media has little bearing on my vote.

Therefore, I would not be voting for my values should I choose to vote for him. I'd be voting for a man sharing my values who can't win.

"Maybe your predominant value is winning?

My prediminant value is having my values promoted by the people in office. Winning is very important in that regard.

In this particular Presidential race, voting for a Liberal who has a chance to win is as bad as voting for a conservative who has NO chance to win. Neither vote does a thing to advance the conservative values I espouse.

No, it’s what the whole lot of you are saying. Anyone who doesn’t get behind Rudy is not only betraying the Republican party, but we’re throwing the election to Hillary because Rudy is the ONLY one who can beat her, and we’re also losing the WOT because Rudy is the ONLY person who can win it. So just forget about all the conservative causes we’ve been fighting for for decades and get in line behind the liberal. Learn to love abortion, the gay agenda, willingly give up your guns, welcome the illegal alien and suck it all up like a good little Republican.

Pullleeeze.

"You made the point that he was pro-abortion when he was Governor of CA."

And you're just gonna accept that as a fact?

Even though it's been refuted at least dozens of times???

Reagan was NOT pro abortion then, or ever!

:O)

“AC—I dug up some of the original quotes by Reagan at the time the abortion bill passed in 1967 when he was governor of California. He was anything but liberal. Unfortunately, the law was interpreted over time much more liberally than it was intended. See my post for some of his quotes:”

“what is Rudy’s position on Wal Mart?”

lmao. That’s good enough to hit the sheets on. Besides I’m sure he’d leave it up to the states.

When did Giuliani become pro-life?

I think it was about the same time he announced his presidential exploratory committee.
