I think we all suspected it would come before May 7. I hope the players have made NO DEALS respecting future claims, and I bet they have not done so.
They may have been trying to find any angle to make a case out of this. Without evidence that’s hard especially with all the eyes on them now. They may have been hoping that enough time would pass so this thing would cool down. But one way or another Fong is paying the price. Probably disbarment.
They all have very smart attorneys & very angry parents. If this is finally over I’m just sorry Kirk Osborn isn’t here to see it.

I hope that the families go after Duke and the 88 professorsk, especially after those statements that the Dean made in the article that was posted, earlier.
What are the odds that the prosecutors will find ANYTHING - for example - one of the players touched her - so it is “assault,” or touched her when she was stripping it is “sexual assault”.
Playing devils advocate - even though there was no rape, and the FA was stupid, passed out drunk, given a stripping party like this - what could have happened based on what we know that a prosecutor could charge any of the kids with?
Folks —— this Duke fiasco is a LOOOONG way from being over..
1. First the false charges must be dropped.
2. Charges and prosecution of Nifong must be concluded.
3. Charges against the lying skank whore must be filed and prosecuted.
4. A whole stack of CIVIL CHARGES against Nifong, Durham, North Carolina, The President of Duke and the 88 lunatic “Professors” and then throw in the pennyless skank for good measure....
5.The PRESIDENT of Duke and the hate mongering “Professors” must pay a price.....a severe price.
6. There is at least ONE very wealthy and “angry” Mother who threatened to make Nifong and the kangaroo court of Duke University”regret for the rest of their lives” trying to railroad her son...
She has the money and the fire in the belly to make good on that promise...

Local news is just reporting this and that the defense may meet with the AG’s staff tomorrow.

I have very seldom heard of a DA's office or Special Prosecutor's office say, "Oops! We made a mistake. We're going to drop the charges."
The state HAS to find that something that the boys did was unlawful.....just to save face. I don't think the boys are going to get a walk.
Then, regardless of what those charges are, the state, the MSM, the university, the gang of 88, every other scoundrel and even Liefong himself can say, "You see? I TOLD you they were guilty." It lets everyone off the hook.
And then there's the question of the lawsuit against the city of Durham, which could be a fireworks show of awesome proportions.
The charges will be dropped. There is no way the state wants any part of taking these kids to court at this point with a worldwide spotlight on them.
I think the issue here is that this is a case most DA’s would not have pursued in the first place. This case IS a mistake. And the publicity it’s gotten has been worldwide. A lot of eyes are on Raleigh. If they get stupid they will create bigger problems than they already have now. I think they will save face by sacrificing the Fong.
