Repeal the 17th Amendment so we can get some real Americans in the US Senate before it is too late. But it may already be too late as they jockey for their place with the Islamic government.

So we can get a bunch of Cut-and-Hagels in as RepubicRATs and the DemonRAT side full of Swimmers and Hitlerys with no chance of removing them? At least now, we do have a snowball's chance in the center of the Sun of removing them.

I'll stoke that fire some more. Another reason the GOP lost the election is due to a deliberate attack upon senators and congressman who were vulnerable to defeat.

The Rats did their homework and went after every single elected official who they felt they could beat and they did it! I saw it here in Indiana with Chocola, Hostettler, and others losing against candidates they had beat in previous elections. Last year was a smear campaign of enormous preportions and they got away with it.

If folks here think that Republican voters will punish, a politician for voting against the Iraq war they are fooling themselves. Ron Paul has opposed the war from the beginning and has won a landslide in every primary and general election including 2006. By contrast, many many, pro-war pubbies went down to defeat. Smith and Hagel will not suffer because of their votes and, given the public climate, may gain votes because of them.

>>Any way this can get sent to GW tonight for Veto because I am sure he will promptly do so and belittle the donks, the party of jackasses, again.

>If he's like his daddy don't count on it. Remember, "Read my lips. NO NEW TAXES" to which he promptly signed one of the largest tax increases in American history. His reason? America didn't give him a Republican congress.

If he doesn't veto, it may not be because he doesn't hate the pullout language in the bill. We all know he does. The problem is that the Rats are evilly clever with this bill-- it's got the money for Iraq in it. Veto the bill, no money for Iraq. You know the Dims won't pass another bill without this pullout crap in it. It's a terrible spot.

Well, it fell out like this. The real traitors were (1) Chuck Hagal and (2) Rep Smith of Oregon.

The fact that Enzi (R-WY) did not vote was a shame. Pryor, a democrat, voted in our favor as well as did Lieberman (I-CT).

Chuck Hagal and Smith from Oregon need to go!

But why let the troops and our enemies know that the United States Senate wants to cut and run ?

I would have fillibustered and lashed out at the DEMS.

will be vetoed by a vote of one ;o)

Amen to that. Thanks the Lord for the wisdom Founding Fathers who gave a lot of power for the President in particular when it comes to conducting the war and foreign policies. They always knew that a nation should have only one Commander in Chief and that is the President and only the President of this great Republic.

Bush has promised to veto any legislation with dates for withdrawing from Iraq, including a measure passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday.

Let's hope he sticks to his guns and socks it to em!!!

This was to be expected. They are idiots and traitors...a dangerous combination. I know some don't like to hear it, and that's too bad, but some of our fellow Republicans who cared more about payback than our troops and our security have dirt on their hands as well.

Yep. A lot of people here are laboring under serious delusions.

That is where you are wrong. Since the cut and run coward Paul has announced his intent to run for the presidency, you are about to get a blunt public humilating message to showing how much influence he has with republicans and conservative voters, not much at all.

BTW if Paul had his way, Saddam would still be alive and in power to rape and murder the innocents. Yeah, great guy there Paul.

What else is new?

If President Bush brought every troop to the United States from Iraq at 6:00 A.M. tomorrow morning by 6:30 A.M. the Democrats would be holding press conferences accusing him of giving in to terrorists.

I understand that he will be standing alone without any support from Congressional Republicans but I wish just one time before he leaves office he would tell the Democrats to take a hike[ ahereing to posting rules I will not state what I wish he actually would say]

I believe that like certain words should never be used in the same sentence with the names Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, and Ted Kennedy, the words spine and courage should be used in the same sentence as Congressional Republican.

Well if this is a private conversation, why are you posting your comments on a public comment? Seems to me that comments on a public board can be answered by anyone. OhioWFan is right; we need to pray for our president, not slam him at every chance. If the Hildebeast were president our troops would be coming home to anti-war protestors spitting on them. Heck, she'd probably be leading them!

To override the president's veto the cut and run party need 2/3 of the votes. They don't have them
