Hersh isn't doing much more than speculating, which is about all his stuff ever turns out to be. He has good sources but if he sticks to them his stuff isn't particularly controversial. To make it saleable he extrapolates. That isn't journalism, it's fiction writing.

Any 'source' that would talk to Sy Hersh doesn't know since by definition speaking with Sy Hersh would be a career ender. I would bet that Hersh speaks with retired General Officers who served primarily under Clinton. These former officers would be out-of-the-loop and anything that they would have to say would be a guess -- an educated guess -- but a guess nonetheless.

Hersh is a piece of crap, but if anyone does`nt know that air power would be used against Iran if we go the military route, they must be living in a cave on Mars.
