Webb will be voting on laws for all of us to live with for years. He seems to have no common sense at all. Having a staffer carry a loaded firearm into that building tells me that Webb does not have his parachute open all the way.

A Senate staffer reports that Thompson was arrested for carrying the gun in a bag through security into a Senate office building while the Senator was parking his car.
Guy carrying a bag for the Senator as the Senator was parking his car.... I'd bet a couple of donuts that the guy didn't know the gun was in the bag....
