I guess that the "letter" from the UN will keep the Pajama boys up all night.

Now that they're "work" is done, these UN officals will be going to Manhattan strip clubs on our dime.

Yeah, that'll show 'em. I'm sure they are packing up all their nukes and sending much of their stuff back to Russia right now. Not.

Well, the stage is set to our having tried diplomacy. When sanctions don't work, who will it be taking out the nuclear sites? Us or Israel?

This is more important than it sounds. It obviously won't stop Iran from continuing to attempt to assemble the Bomb, but it's a slap in their face that they desperately wanted to avoid.

It might just make things worse, but it is an important development.

Whooope.

All kinds of material import bans, financial bans, and even the travel bans are gone.

It amounts to another 'nasty letter' warning of further consequences if they do listen FOR REAL this time.

That may be the only thing we and the Mullahs have in common.

Well, we wouldn't go to UN if we really didn't care about it

Does that mean that after 17 warnings we can bomb them?

Don't listen this time (again) that is.

Anyway I guess some others are right... at least we're a step closer to the eventual ultimate failure of the diplomacy route.

I think letting the Euro's deal with Iran was done because we have always known Iran was not going to back down and we are already convinced there will be war at some point. The Euro's however thought diplomacy would work, and instead of having them argue with us trying to 'persuade' us to talk, we figured it'd be better to let them talk to Iran and learn for themselves just how useless it is (especially when the 'US Boogyman' is removed from the equation).

Point is, another step down that road I guess... we'll see where it goes.

Given the UN's history, the prospects of sanctions enforcement aren't that great. Three words hang over today's Security Council vote: Oil For Food.

Yes, but did the UN use all caps or bolded fonts to show they really mean it this time?

Why by golly that'll teach em- Oh the inhumanity of such brutal sanctions- I'm surprised the U.N didn't offer a couple of billion to them to offset the aweful conditions of the sanctions! http://sacredscoop.com

Not to hijack the the thread, but it occurs to me that if mohammed were alive today, he wouldn't be much different in word and deed from Charles Manson.
