That might be. However, it appears that Christians will have no problem at all with the existence of life on other planets. Those who are attempting to deconstruct religion will take it as a victory, but they don't have a clue now and still won't then.

another attempt by science to undermime religion

LOL... sure. You're kidding, right?

Or maybe some people are interested in looking for life because it might be there. Maybe that's it.

Rather than search for life, that would certainly consist of useless microbes, we should PUT life on Mars, as in human life.

Be careful. Some day, they might find life on another planet. If people of faith have made a big stink about how the lack of ET life supports our special place in the Lord's heart, there will be a conclusion drawn on the part of many - well, now's there's some ET life, faith must be wrong. This is similar to why YEC views are dangerous - if it's either Creationism/God or Evolution/atheism, this pushes science-minded people away from faith for no real reason.

Show me where the Bible says God didn't put life anywhere but earth. It doesn't say he did, but it doesn't say he didn't, either.

I'm curious here. How does life on other planets undermine our religion? I'm a conservative Christian and I don't see why there couldn't be life on other planets.

How do you see life on other planets fits in with Creation? For lib Christians I know it won't be a problem.

Yes, of course that would be the thing to do.

The Bible is entirely silent on the issue of life on other planets. Please tell me how I'm wrong.

Life on Mars. That's all we need. Now the Sierra Club will sue to stop all further Martian exploration in order to protect Mars's delicate environment.

I know what you are saying, but science tries to push any discovery as anti-religion. They will find a little bacteria on Saturn and use it as proof religion is bunk. I just hate to see tax money wasted on this.

Simply put, don't you think if there was life on other planets out there, it would be mentioned in Genesis! LOL. It would be a pretty big deal, right?

I am not saying there's no bacteria out in space, but I do think scientists will use this against us.

Well, there are ways to read the text. Earth might mean all planets in the Hubble volume. Many mansions might refer to other planets with Christian societies. It's a lot of interpretation, but we can't possibly know without going out there and checking it out and then referring to the text again. If life is found, and I assume it will be, it will not bother anyone very much. In fact, it will be a hot topic around dinner tables for a couple days. That's about it. Old sermons will have to be slightly rewritten, which ought to be done more often anyway.

We're searching for life so much there that we're going to eventually contaminate the place with bacteria. It's only a matter of time.

Exactly, but I would not say that "science" pushes a discovery any given way - I would say "athiests" push it. Many, I'd dare say most, scientists believe in God, and many of those are believing Christians (versus Jews, Hindus, Deists,or whatever). To me, the athiest scientist is in the minority, and has hijacked the science establishment the same way athiests have hijacked the rest of the country.

"I will tell you why. Searching for "life on other planets" is another attempt by science to undermime religion"

That is a dangerous position to take. If that's the case, will you stop believing when the first ET life form is found? Is your faith that weak?

"and push evolution."

How does finding ET life have anything to do with biogenesis?

"How many billions or trilions have been spent to convince people not to believe the Bible?"

I don't know, how many? And can you describe what kinds of activities you will categorize as "convincing people not to believe in the Bible?"

Which Bible do you mean, anyway? If you're a Christian, then perhaps my parents spent money when I was a child that taught me not to believe in your Bible, depending on your POV. I follow the Torah. I don't see how it's in any way incompatible with finding bacteria on Mars, either.
