Please say a special Thanksgiving prayer for BigSkyFreeper; he lost his beloved grandmother early this evening; he was a big part of the care for her during her last years.
He'll need special prayers for the coming week.

BSF, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I lost my grandmother, too, at Thanksgiving, many years back. I know how hard it is.
We chose to look at the positive, how it brought the family together from all over for our last Turkey Day gathering.
Pray that you will be comforted as all that mourn are comforted.

I really appreciate it. I expected the moment to pass and thought I built myself up, but when I got that call, it all came crashing back down.
I've been a mess for the last couple hours. It was like July 28th (the day my mom, dad and I put her in hospice care) all over again.
At least I know she is in a better place now and still appreciating all that I did for her for the last 15 years as she had become a widow in 1984.
Last night I prayed that she would fight right through the weekend, but God knew when it was time for her to come home.

Does anyone know how to get hold of a video? I saw it on TBN, and it's of an older lady praying, going to bed and dying, then being met by Jesus in heaven. The song is "I Bowed on My Knees and Cried Holy".
If anyone could locate it, I'd appreciate it (I checked YouTube and Google and could not find it). And it may also be of great comfort to BigSkyFreeper at this time.

Oh .. so sorry BSF ... tough time, and I hope you'll take comfort in knowing that you probably added years to her life with your devoted care. Prayers for you and your family at this time and the coming days. May Our Dear Lord embrace you and yours with His peace and grace. God bless you.
There is some comfort in knowing she died just the way she had hoped she would(in her sleep).

For one thing, I think I put a little less worry and stress in her daily life. She would have me to come home to, and when ever she traveled to visit her grandkids and greatgrandkids and her two daughters, she knew that the house was being taken care of when she was gone for 6 months a year.
Please accept our deepest condolences, BigSkyFreeper. We're SO sorry for the loss of your Grandma...
