Dick Morris: 20 years of Democratic Control
Fox News | 11/9/06

Posted on 11/09/2006 5:25:38 AM PST by pabianice

Dick Morris just on Fox: he said this is the beginning of an historic swing to the Dems. The next two years will be an unending blizzard of hearings and subpoenas and trials which, with the help of a drooling leftist media, will blanket the country, destroying the Republican Party and ensuring that dems control Congress and the White House for the foreseeable future.

Standard Morris stuff. Didn't he predict that the Repubs would keep Congress? I think it more likely that the Dems will take-off their masks and give the country a horror show for the next two years, something the elctorate doesn't want. We'll see.

I also look at the fact that the democrats gained a lot of seats with bluedog democrats that will stand in direct opposition to the Nancy Pelosi moonbats.

I talked to a code pink clown yesterday who is disgusted that the bluedogs haven't been purged from the party. It could be a very entertaining two years.

Perhaps, but I doubt it. They had an excellent strategy this time around for capturing the "center" voter - run conservative (for a Dem) candidates who speak a message designed to appeal to the middle of the electorate. And, it worked.

So, I suspect they will spend the next two years trying to consolidate their gains in the middle by appearing moderate. If it works again, they cement theirs gains from 2006.

Then it's Katy bar the door. :)

"Revolution in Mexico"? Here is something I hadn't considered at all. Is this just an example , or is it a real possibility? I know practically nothing about politics down there.

Big changes, hard work-- it's fixable.

its very easy to fix ... the GOP needs to get back on track with its contract with America... limit government spending... its that easy.. now whether the GOP will figure it out within two years is debatable

Bush has never favored amnesty. You just look bad when you twist his position. Take that to the Art Bell show.

With lack of leadership in the Republican Party, lack of focus, direction, agenda, purpose, coupled with the inability to respond to political attacks and allowing the opposition to set the tone, debate and political agenda, the question is no whether the Democrats will control the political agenda for the next twenty years, but whether a two party system will continue to exist in this country.

The total failure, and inability to take responsibility for the massive and overwhelming defeat at the hands of the Democrats have set the course for the ultimate demise of the Republican Party and has endangered every party member and their family. While the Republican leadership played their fiddles, America burned. They should, but will not be be held responsible for the actions.

He got one digit right: 2 . . . 2 years.

It will not take the electorate long to remember why they were so disgusted with the Rats in the first place, except that now, their current leadership has had their radicalism bottled up and on steroids for years.

"The dems will over reach .. they always do"

I'm persuaded that the time for absolutes is over.
We cannot rely on 'always or never' anymore.

Just as warfare is nowhere near what ww2, Korea or even Viet Nam was .. so too is the political/social landscape.

A new weapon, Fear ... has been added to the arsenal and, just as we cannot go to the store and pick up a pound of mind .. neither can we read the labels on the different brands of fear.

The future of America is now a vast unknown, and very cool heads are required now to lead us ... unfortunately .. we may have entered a similar period suffered by ancient Israel as recorded by the prophet Isaiah ...

Chapter 3

1 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.

2 The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,

3 The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

6 When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:

7 In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

13 The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

14 The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

15 What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

17 Therefore the LORD will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.

18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,

19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,

20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,

21 The rings, and nose jewels,

22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,

23 The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.

24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.

You forgot to factor in God.

Yes it seems God favors the Democrats...

When the Dems go on TV with their hearings, America will be horrified. It will realize that the Dems don't look like America. I saw a horrifying one recently where the witness told Maxine Waters that screaming was not OK. Bill Bennett is advocating younger, more vigorous leadership and I agree. The hangers-on who now rise to power in Dems will look old and extreme. Nature abhors a vacuum. If we clean house even further, there will be good talent to fill the shoes of the fat old guard. This week the Dems found that talent, because R's were protecting the status quo.

Yes, well the electorate will have to balance the ugliness of the drooling leftist media and Democrat horror show against a Republican Party, promising lean government but unbuckling its pants and loosening its belt after every lobbyist-paid meal (thank you, Jonah), as it expands entitlements (prescription drugs!) and ignores public alarm (open borders, illigal immigration, eminent domain abuse!).

One good thing that might come out of this election is the brutal reality that when you - and I mean all the little cities and counties across the country - vote for your representative, you are also voting for Speaker of the House. Are all of those folks happy now with a rabid, hate-filled San Francisco liberal?

Morris is right IF Bush shoves amnesty for illegals down our throats. There won't be another Republican majority in my lifetime...if ever.

If the Republicans further drive the Hispanic vote to the Democrats, you will get amnesty and Democrats for a long time. This is simple mathmatics.
