I don't give a hoot about BRAC. That was around long before him and will be around long after him.

He has been nothing short of magnificent under incredibly difficult circumstances, and I'm surprised to see you here piling on. It's pathetic.

Maybe GWB wants to appoint a new sec. now though while the Repubs are still in control because when Dems have their Senate majority he probably wont be able to get any nominees through.

So they filibuster until then

"Rummy would be private citizen he could smack chat anybody if he wish
"

Is that English? Could you please restate it?

And for that you may thank Jack Murtha, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, virtually the entire planet... but not President Bush or Sec. Rumsfeld.

Yes and no! It is true that Murtha, Kerry, Pelosi, Dean, etc, instigated this feeling of Vietnam, but the response from Pres. Bush, Sec. Rumsfeld, and the GOP has not been effective in countering that feeling.

Images resonate with the public and the MSM has been bombarding us with images of bombings and deaths in Iraq. We never responded with images of the rebuilding of Iraq. If the MSM didn't air it, the RNC certainly had enough money to buy air time.

I doubt he was planning it. We've heard he's offered to step down numerous times, and this time, Bush didn't stop him.

I am angry and sad that this man's honorable career and dedication to this country has ended like this, and that he will be written about (seeing the libs writes all the school books) as having "resigned in disgrace."

He deserves better than this.

At this point, the only thing that could really surprise me is if the President resigned. Cheney would make it interesting, but it wouldn't be a shocker. I think my shock is about used up.

I don't really care why...and I am sure you are right.

It just sucks, big time.

All we have heard from the Dems and Rinos is "get rid of Rummy"...for months.

So...what happens the day after the election??

Rummy is gone.

Who ever made the decision for whatever reason...I still HATE IT.

I am a RUMMY fan..

After the disappointment of last night..I just wish I didn't have to have another one so soon...(feeling sorry for myself..lol)

I agree. The name on the first soepena was going to say Rumsfeld. The man has got to be exausted. No sense in letting the Dems take swings at you for 2 years.

Rummy isn't a quiter. He was forced out. Bush's conference makes that fairly clear.

Boy, Bush isn't very loyal is he? For someone that demands it, he certainly doesn't return it. Rummy is/was/will always be terrific. I am soooooo disappointed in Bush.

Americans don't give a crap how many Iraqi civilians we kill, so long as we win decisively. Instead we pussyfooted around Fallujah, investigated our men men incessantly, left Al Sadr alive (can you imagine MacArthur doing that?) and never took revenge for those charred and mutilated American bodies (again, Al Sadr should have died for that alone).

So they voted for the appeasement party

That makes no sense

You know, I see alot of recess appointments coming if the Senate stall appointments. This is because the appointments will be good until the end of W's term.

Under the constitution can the President recess appoint someone to VP if Cheney resigns.

If so, how about Rudy.

I am baffled. How hard is it for Bush to simply do what the conservative voices call for? Why is this so difficult? he makes no friends either way so why not try to satisfy your base?

Totally dumbfounded here.

-"I hope extreemly myopic morons like you enjoy the F- you are about to get. "

Keep thinking that. It's your type of bull-headedness-thinking that will keep us in that damn Iraq another 10 years, and cost us all 3 branches of government.
