Subtle gong alert, scrolled on the bottom of the screen.
it's not as big as some people are making it out to be...
1. in the last 2 years of an admin. many people leave administrations
2. Rummy draws a lot of heat, Pres. Bush will probably spend the next 2 years trashed in investigations, so why give them more ammunition, another target?
That's what I heard.
I'm with you. I'm witless at the moment as well.
We're all worried about our troops...but calling the Pres. as dumb as a brick helps no one...especially the troops.
yes, I heard that too. this switch to gates was "planned a while a go"?
Bush admitted he lied. This is a bloody trainwreck.
God do I HATE Gregory.
He's speaking to a dead room of reporters who smell blood. He no longer sounds confident or coherent.
We all need to pray for Bush and his remaining administration, AND all the rest of those that got voted in yesterday.
God's work is mysterious and unbeknownst to us BUT he still has control, imo!!!
Thanks Red Cell and Agrace.
Helps when you think you're the only one that's nuts.
Now politicians lie all the time but rarely do they admit such a thing so awkwardly in public.
Okay, gotta go get more wits here. I'm not done yet.
All I know is the troops really respect him. Damn, can't turn Congress over to the dimms and remove Rummy in the same 24 hours without seriously, seriously hurting morale.
If he lied about Rummy, did he also lie about Cheney? Will Cheney be the next to go?
Gosh. He just called all the Republicans who lost dishonest.
Wanna take bets on how many "bush lied" headlines/stories that answer generates? NOT a smart answer, IMO.
He needs to end this now!
And he's still in denial about the increasing unpopularity of the Iraq occupation.
What it sounds like is Rumsfeld said he was going to resign if the Democrats won so Bush had better have a replacement if necessary.
He's actually caving in right now... this really sucks for the troops.. I'n disgusted.
"Rove, you Bastard."
Get outta my head, Laz.
;-)
I agree with what you say. God is watching.
I agree. I know that no matter what happens, God still runs the show and he will take care of His followers.
This is the worst post election presser ever.
Not feeling too good about what I'm hearing (tone and message)
WTF? Did I wake up on bizzaro world today?
Yup. Now, I was souring on how Iraq was handled, so I would have welcomed cleanly switching Rumsfeld for something else a few months ago. But this is asinine.
sure is painful to watch.....can't wait for Rush's conclusions
This is sad... and scary.
Listen...we are a democracy. He needs to respond to what the American people have said to some degree. He is not backing down on anything. Nobody is happy with the progress in Iraq. Not that there isn't progress...but, we do need fresh eyes...that can't hurt.
We will get through this. We are strong. I know for myself, I have learned a hard lesson and that is to ONLY deal in reality. No more wishful thinking creating false hope.
It helps me ;^D
Okay, answering my own post here. My wits is starting to flood back in.
First wit-this President is very, very angry.
The little bit of verbal fluidity he has goes out the window when he's mad.
Trying to be fair here.
Gotta get more wits. I'm not done yet.
I'm going to agree with you on this. President Bush sounds unsure of himself, tentative...
That's the problem with trying to lobe up a win. Sometimes you catch the other side of guard and get the victory. But if you play to win and play "smash mouth" campaigning, you know you won win the other guy doesn't get up of the field.
The Demos and the media know this and ALWAYS play like it matters. Don't know when we will ever learn how to play to win.
Maybe the "cut and run" conservatives will learn over the next 2 years, what the penalties for not showing up really are. But more likely the smart Republicans will go to work getting ready for 08, while the "no shows" will whine and complain that the coach let them down and should be fired.
EJECT! EJECT! EJECT!

Salute to Rumsfield.
Pres. Bush: I didn't want to inject a major policy decision like this in the middle of an election. I gave you that answer to move you onto your next question. I also had not finished talking with Gates.
Not acceptable. Duck the question or change the subject rather than flat-out lie.
No future "votes of confidence" in Administration officials by this President will have any credibility.
they do smell blood, you are right.
its going to get alot worse. alot worse. and this speech is not helping. Bush is pinning the tail on his own a*s here - instead of stepping up and saying the truth - that the american people need to realize that they have elected a majority party - WHO HAVE NO POLICY on how to win in iraq, or in the war on terror.
just say it damn it.
Wait till President Hillary interprets the Patriotc Act.
I report...you figure it out.
This speech is a trainwreck.
It's not good.
Is Allegra still over there? It is cut and run time!
This is killing me. I can't believe it. What on earth is wrong with him today? It's like something much more than just the elections has him rattled to the core.
Keep talking - I'm still feeling like I'm through the looking glass. :)
I have cried enough for us all. I take things too serious sometimes but I am really hurt. The President is speaking now and I love him so dearly. Thanks to the MSM, they got their way. They are happiest when they are beating this man up. Maybe the MSM should realize that sadness comes to each family and it can come to some of them also. I understand your feelings.
You aren't kidding.
