The British developer of the world wide web says he is worried about the way it could be used to spread misinformation and "undemocratic forces".
The web has transformed the way many people work, play and do business.
But Sir Tim Berners-Lee told BBC News he feared that, if the way the internet is used is left to develop unchecked, "bad things" could happen.

Apparently Iraq had a secret nuclear research, despite what CIA and Wilson said. Wonder if they will mention jveritas and FR.

A while ago there was a suggestion on FR to download the DoD documents on local servers, just in case they shut down the site, anybody knows the status of the project, if it ever got off the ground?
I tried searching the archives and couldn't find the articles - from 2003 I believe - about how the IAEA was ticked off at the US for removing all of the nuclear weapons materials from Iraq and hiding them away in US storage facilities.
Okay, this will hurt Republican candidates how?
If Saddam had such hot nuke tech, then it bolsters the need for the invasion, i.e. Bush was right!
Especially after the Clinton administration gave Iran the plans for the W-88 warhead fusing.

They are telling us now that Bush's lies are the truth and that the truth may give Iran the bomb and get us all killed and he sucks?

Holy crap! the NYT does not realize how badly they have just stepped in it. One can conclude three things from this. 1) Iraq was much further along in their nuke program than was reported if it had plans that would be beneficial to Iran. 2)If the inadvertent releasing of information that helps our enemies is so bad, then how can the purposeful releasing of classified information that helps our enemies, (ie. NSA, SWIFT, etc.) be a good thing?Sloppiness is one thing, treason is quite another. 3) The IAEA is useless, and with NK and Iran running to the bomb, we can once again conclude that we cannot rest on the U.N. This is going to bite them in in the butt!
The NYT can't have it both ways.
You might want to check with jveritas. He's been doing a tremendous job of translating.
I'm not trusting that this is all until tomorrow.

Bush never should have invaded Iraq because Saddam had no WMDs nor any plans for same.Bush never should have posted the Iraqi nuclear plans on the internet because it helped the Iranian get WMDs.

Imagine if Bush had kept these documents secret for 3 years and then announced today for the very first time that these documents existed and proved that Saddam had a WMD program. The NYT would be screaming bloody murder about the "October Surprise" and about the administration callously sitting on these documents for political purposes while our troops were dying.
