NYT PLANS EXCLUSIVE STORY ON IRAQ AND RESEARCH OF NUKE BOMB... NEWSROOM SOURCE TELLS DRUDGE: 'IT WILL LEAD THE PAPER ON FRIDAY... IT SHOULD IGNITE NEWS CYCLES'... DEVELOPING...
This is ridiculous. After Clinton gave N Korea the materials for a nuke? Something is wrong in Denmark. NYT and Dems really concerned about Kerry fallout? A "pretend" subject for Sunday's shows?
Now I really wonder what is coming Saturday.
Still hoping we get an Osama tape and a Saddam guilty verdict.
Hahaha! That made me laugh out loud because I could just hear him: "Well, I think the first thing I'd like to do is thank the New York Times for finally admitting there were WMDs in Iraq. Are there any questions?
I read thousands of documents so far and not a single one "detail" how to build a nuclear bomb. So now the New York Times is interested in the documents but they do not mention the many documents that show Saddam never stopped in working to develop his nuclear program or WMD.
You'd think they'd be able to come up with something better. "George Bush Feasts on Young Flesh" or "Republicans Torture Animals" or "Bush Administration in Favor of Ethnic Cleansing of Italians"...but this simply defies all logic
They will try like heck to spin it but it is an idiotic spin. THe Iranians benefited from this? If that is true, so did every other country in the world -- nothing special about Iran in this context. People will understand that this was Iraqi information and technology, substantiating how dangerous Saddam was and how weak the whole UN inspection nonsense is.
And dollars to donuts that the IAEA frauds leaked this to the NYT before informing us, hoping to pin Iranian nukes on Bush. Political neophytes don't understand what they may have unleashed.
Well played EQ, well played. I like that scenario very much and think you need to be plugged in with Ken at GOP HQ.
He is as invisible as Howard Dean and has me starving for those classic national ads that slam the Dems right around dinner time.
I have been sensing the surge and we just need that nudge. I thought Kerry might be it, but the Dems are ready to counter with a last ditch effort. We need one more direct hit on Monday. Something that people will go to bed thinking about and waking up ready to vote, even if they have to hold their noses.
It's broken glass time baby. I'm ready for the home stretch.
What moral posture can the Times possibly advocate about non-disclosing documents? The hypocrisy is astonishing.
Hey, look, I'm the only conservative there, they hate me for a freak in this university town; I'm not calling third shift to get the low down on the low down times, they'd lie to me anyway!
Worst Hit Piece on Bush Ever....
Sarc???
That would be quite a busy weekend. And a heck of a "surprise."
Okay, so NYT's November surprise is confirming that Bush was right all along - Iraq had hot nuke tech...
Now, pardon me while I try to swat this pig flying around my house...
This is the Worst Hit Piece Ever....
Jveritas, I hope that Tony Snow recalls your discussions with him about the document you translated. Maybe you will get a call.
Thanks JerseyDvl! I expect we'll see a thousand more before next Tuesday.
Now for that Kewpie doll........LOL!
Well see when I read it, but at this point it seems inept. Not that I mind!
Thanks girl, hey, I've lived in SoCalif for 30 odd years, but I am 100% pure bred Cajun from SW Louisiana.
I agree w you. I also think it's a bit *curious* that Stretch Pelosi (who had an Amber alert issued for her by Rush) and Dingy Harry have been almost totally silent for sometime now and, all of a sudden, they send a letter to the President today about the military. Coinky dinky - possibly, but call me cynical.
Don't know if this has anything to do w the NY Slimes (hit) piece, but this could also prove to be interesting:

Yeah I know. I think perhaps they are going to do some sort of rebuttal of the NYT's article, or another interpretation of the information, much like we are doing right now.
Well, it is on Drudge now.
The NYT just attempted to slam the govt as incompetent in revealing Saddam's plans for the big bomb on the govt webstie.
They hope we won't notice and comment,,,What plans? What bomb?
--I can understand the spin they are trying to put on it, but if it is as it appears...wow. This should be interesting.--
Not only that; there were oodles of info on Iraq - AlQaeda links on that site (many repeated thanks to JVeritas for the translations!).
NYT is trying to SPIN the nuke aspect of the pre-war docs only. The MSM will be exposed as the partisan idiots they are, for ignoring the Iraq - terrorism links on the site. That's an even STRONGER rationale for the Iraq invasion.
Set up web site maybe. No way our people would put out something that wasn't carefully checked or maybe planted there for a reason with false info.
hell, the leftist media has the sheeple believing that iraq didn't even have a can of Raid in the entire country before the war - much less WMD and nukes.

The Bomb Assembly Building on Tinian: Navy Commander Frances Burch, senior officer in charge of bomb assembly, paints the "L-11" insignia on the "Little Boy" uranium bomb as Dr. Norman Ramsey, attached to Project Alberta, looks on.
My point is simple: this is sixty-year old techology. The notion that Iran could somehow have taken a shortcut by looking at Iraqi documents is foolish.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
Yes...there is a slight aroma in the air...do I detect a whiff of a now-out-of-control sequence of unfolding events re the great NYT? The story must out, but lo the surprise awaiting beyond yon door. The NYT opens the door, the trap is sprung! Do you think....? ( I know, not great prose, but can you forgive me if I gloat a little?).
I know. It's very annoying and rude. Ususally folks who do this are about 200 years old.
the kids post in all lowercase and do not use any punctuation. thats because their mindset is focussed on instant messaging and often don't know the difference between their and there or theyre or to two or too
Yeah, this really hurts...
the Dems!
I don't think the info that the IAEA is worried about had been published,,,,,,,,,,,,yet.
That link helps to explain why the government set up the program to release documents.
Great minds think alike ;-) I posted a link to this before I got to your post
Yes it did:

NYT and IAEA slam Bush in pre-election meaneuver
Not for the first time, the IAEA is teaming up with the New York Times to embarrass Bush on the even of an election. I seem to recall that the International Atomic Energy Agency (a United Nations Agency known by the acronymn IAEA) had previously tried an election eve gambit (also with the cooperation of the NYT) . Specifically, the IAEA claimed that negligence on the part of the US led to the looting of tons of high explosive in Iraq. Supposedly, under US guard, these explosives had gone missing. The Pentagon was later able to deflate this expose by showing that the Hussein regime had already moved this stockpile of explosives before the invasion by coalition forces. Back then, the UN was accused of meddling in the US Presidential election; now it and its partner The New York Times is once again attempting to influence American elections by casting aspersions on the competency of a Republican Administration.
U.S. Web Archive Is Said to Reveal a Nuclear Guide
By WILLIAM J. BROAD
Last March, the federal government set up a Web site to make public a vast archive of Iraqi documents captured during the war. The Bush administration did so under pressure from Congressional Republicans who said they hoped to leverage the Internet to find new evidence of the prewar dangers posed by Saddam Hussein.
But in recent weeks, the site has posted some documents that weapons experts say are a danger themselves: detailed accounts of Iraqs secret nuclear research before the 1991 Persian Gulf war. The documents, the experts say, constitute a basic guide to building an atom bomb.
Last night, the government shut down the Web site after The New York Times asked about complaints from weapons experts and arms-control officials. A spokesman for the director of national intelligence said access to the site had been suspended pending a review to ensure its content is appropriate for public viewing.
Certainly theres no love lost beween the Bush Administration and Mohammed El-Baradei, the feckless leader of the IAEA, that the Administration had hoped to replace after his term expired. The New York Times, true to form, has used its franchise for partisan purposes.

Note to NYT: Nice try at hijacking, but no, we are not playing along this time.

I ask again. The NYT has the nerve to question others about releasing sensitive information?
This is almost a political gift to come right back to the wiretap disclosure!
No- just the opposite. The media has tried to get people to believe that the thousands of drums of precursor chemicals found throughout Iraq and in its military bases was just roach spray.
bttt
Here's hoping the fence sitters have some smarts, but that seems a little optimistic at this point.
And the Dem partisans will crow, despite all our mocking at the contradiction.
There's such little time left now, they make a big splash, and hope for no clear analysis.
Check out this dig:
"Some intelligence officials feared that individual documents, translated and interpreted by amateurs, would be used out of context to second-guess the intelligence agencies view that Mr. Hussein did not have unconventional weapons or substantive ties to Al Qaeda. Reviewing the documents for release would add an unnecessary burden on busy intelligence analysts, they argued."
Just getting home. Did the NYTs print a story saying that Saddam was close to building a nuke in 2002?
Yea ...I keep seeing neo-cons everywhere
