Of course this makes it really difficult to deny the presense of the Jewish kingdom in the ancient world.

The scoffers will find SOME flimsy excuse to disprove this and ANY other Historical achchalogial evidence that is discovered.

So does this "inconvenient" little monument in Rome.

Kinda reminds me of Joel C. Rosenberg's semi-fiction novel The Copper Scroll in which the heroes/heroines discover a vast underground tunnel system branching under Jerusalem from King Hezekiah's Tunnel.

And why is there ZERO proof of an ancient Palestinian civilization in the Holy Land? Oh yeah, because there wasn't one!

One could confirm a bloodline, but to pinpoint a relative in it is very difficult unless one has an authentic reference sample for comparison.

"Palestine" was a "creation" of the Roman Emperor Hadrian after the Jews in Judea REALLY pissed him off by revolting continuously against Him and Rome(AROUND 70 AD). So he Stripped the name off of the Land (Judea) and replaced the name with his own invention "Palestine" and then scattered the Jewish people to the 4 wind and 4 corners of the Earth and THAT is how things were until 1948. THERE WAS NEVER A "Palestinian" HOMELAND EVER!
To: US Navy guy
The British Empire in the 19th century and first half of the 20th century didn't make thing any easier. The kept names as they were and then divided territory based on geographical considerations for their own convenience. Much of the trouble in Iraq is because, while it makes sense geographically, in reality it is three distinct groups who hate each other.

What people were there before the Hebrews?
In the land of Canaan, God told the Hebrews to kill every man, woman, child and animal....maybe there were some who escaped, you suppose?
Just asking.

The Children of Isreal had problem with G_D's command's to rid verious lands of ALL Inhabitants and ALL of thier stuff. They kept keeping "Just" a "Little" for themselves. That is how we today have ALOT of the "Arab" People(Palestinians).
To: Duffboy
But Israel never fully obeyed God's command. Many of them intermarried, and thus adopted the Canaanites' culture and religions, which led to Israel's downfall.
You see, culture and assimilation really do matter.

Only idiots could deny it anyway. One more historical discovery won't change the minds of idiots.

From the article:
A year ago, archeologists discovered a pool from the days of the Second Temple that had been used by pilgrims to Jerusalem, to refresh them after their long journey.
