"Maldonado" is the same name/clan as "MacDonald".

The name "Gallegos" means "Gaels".

They play the bagpipe in Galicia--it's called the 'Gaita'

"Maybe I should put myself down as not as "Caucasian" but as "Celts". It sound more impressive. "

I do but I write Kelt just to confuse the rifraff.

"Am I descended from Celts? Romans? Norsemen? Danes? Saxons? Normans? "

Get your DNA tested. It doesn't cost that much and it's really interesting.

To all

Who did the Celts displace? I remember reading somewhere there were Celtic(Irish) folktales about conquering the "original inhabitants". There is some theorizing that the "Irish Travelers" are a remnant of the original inhabitants of the British Isles. When the Celtic tribes moved into Europe who did they displace, the Basques? I guarantee Europe wasn't empty!

This dovetails quite nicely with the Milesian Legends.

Where does one go to get his or her DNA tested?

The Firbolg or People of the bag. They wore a bag with charms in it around their neck. and there were also the Fomorians. The last wave of Celts were the Milesians. Look up Amergin 1530 BC

The original inhabitants were the Tuatha Dé Danann, or so the legend goes.

"Where does one go to get his or her DNA tested?"

I ran a quick search and came up with a ton of hits:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=genealogy+DNA+testing+y+chromosome

I'm not that familiar with most of these companies; the DNA Ancestry Project is the only one whose name I recognize. They send you a kit with a swab that you rub on the inside of your cheek, and send back to them for testing, as best I understand the process.
