Dude - you are a badass - every guy dreams of taking down a bear with only a knife - and to save your dog on top of it, even better - nice work.
To: kanawa
Good job! I was going to make a bad pun, but that would be unbearable...

I'm glad both you and Sam survived...
Did you carve your name on a nearby tree? ;)

Yup... just like Israel trying to defend it's self, or the USA trying to defend it's self, the Liberals selectively FORGET the facts , and the fact that this person and his dog was being attacked ( like being attacked by Islamics ) by this bear, and the man was trying to protect himself and the dog.
To: Richard Kimball
Have you seen this story about a FReeper, his dog, and the slain bear?

The only question I have is "do those big balls of yours get in the way when you walk?"
To: kanawa
Thank heavens you and the pooch are alright. I think I'd carry a 12 gauge next time I went hiking/camping in those woods, though.
Atta boy, Sam!

I'm still a bit on the, "Not yet awake," side and didn't realize that this is YOUR story. WOW!!
Didn't have your nunchakus with you at the time?
J/K.
Glad you and your pooch made it through this. Now go and buy a Powerball ticket while the streak is holding.

My mom and dad told me when I was 6 years old to never leave the house without a pocketknife and a pack of matches. You could survive in the woods with just them two items.
To this day I constantly have to leave my knife in the car when going in certain places where they aren't allowed.
I carried a pocketknife all through school, everyday. Try and do that today.

It looks like that bear picked a fight with the wrong man and dog.
We need to pray for you in case the liberal jackals dogs come after you for harming a defenseless bear that was trying to attack you.

Glad to hear that you and Sam are all right. That is a tale to tell your grandkids for sure.
Sounds like the bear was stalking you.
