Rudy for president?

Well-connected public figures report that they have been told recently by Rudolph Giuliani that, as of now, he intends to run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008.

The former mayor of New York was on top of last month's national Gallup poll measuring presidential preferences by registered Republicans, with 29 percent. Sen. John McCain's 24 percent was second, with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich third at 8 percent. National polls all year have shown Giuliani running either first or second to McCain, with the rest of the presidential possibilities far behind.

Republican insiders respond to these numbers by saying rank-and-file GOP voters will abandon Giuliani once they realize his position on abortion, gay rights and gun control. Party strategists calculate that if he actually runs, he must change on at least one of these issues.

You can't turn your back on McCain.

Rudy shows up for "little guy" funerals.
He directed police assets to protect quality of life issues.
He believes in under promising and out performing.
He was the nations leader during the 9 11 attack.
We need him.

Kerik provided leadership for the city of NY during a terrible crisis . . .

Can you cite a specific example of this?

Rudy would not be my first choice but I would vote for him. My big concern is that some on the right would try to get a third party candidate to run which would insure a Hillary type person as the next president.

Respectfully, sir, you are wrong.

Lincoln signed the first income tax into law, with a top rate of 10%, as a "war measure". It was repealed in 1872, but established the precedent of income taxation.

In 1862, Lincoln also signed a tax bill containing 119 sections, which imposed stamp taxes, inheritance taxes, excise taxes, gross receipt taxes, and license taxes.

States were voluntary members of "the Union", and had the right to dissolve themselves of that Union, just as the founders dissolved themselves from Great Britain.

I stand by everything I've stated about Lincoln, "lost cause" or no "lost cause".

Anybody who is for reforming the IRS, winning a gang war, and creative business enterprise would have loved John Gotti Sr.... besides he looked great in a tailored suit...

Can you explain? Is Blackirish part of the homosexual agenda?

There is no way Hillary will be the Dem nominee. She is a horrible speaker and a crappy campaigner.

Dukakis, Gore, Kerry. Need I say more.

Like I said, forgiveness is a great human quality.

You sound like a freaking Clinton supporter fawning over a video clip of that dysfunctional sh!t-head crying out of one eye.

Wisdom and discernment are great human qualities, too -- and "forgiving" someone (whatever the heck that means in this case) does not mean you have any obligation to ever trust them in positions of authority again.

>>>>Socially liberal programs? What the hell are that? Social liberalism means government disengagement from particular subjects, like abortion. No payment involved.

The three best examples of social liberal programs are FDR`s Social Security, LBJ`s Medicare and Bush43`s Prescription Drug Program. Roe v Wade is a fine example of social liberalism. I don't have time to give a dissertation in conservatism versus liberalism. The owner/operator of this website wrote a great piece back in 2003 and its speaks to my politics. ENJOY!

"I'm pro-life, pro-God, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-Constitution, pro-freedom and pro-America. I'm for less taxes, for smaller less intrusive government, for strong national defense. I am anti-feminaziism, anti-homosexual agenda, anti-homosexual marriage, anti-extra-constitutional rights for any class or group of people, anti-illegal immigration, anti-drivers licenses for illegal aliens, anti-liberal give away programs attracting illegal immigrants, anti-wealth redistribution, anti-bureaucracy, anti-liberal and anti-Democrat. I'm anti-global warming treaty (it's a farce), anti-junk science, anti-UN, anti-environmentalism and I'm pro-drilling. I'm anti-income tax, anti-big government, anti-social security, anti-mediscare, anti-goverment schools, and for a repeal of the 16th and 17th amendments. I'm anti-universal healthcare, anti-government forced insurance coverage and anti-union for government workers. I'm for everyone paying their own medical expenses and providing for their own retirements where they can. I'm pro-business, pro-entrepreneur and pro-individualism. I'm pro-SUV, pro-4WD, pro-BBQ, pro-sleeping under the stars. I'm anti-corruption, anti-Clinton (any of them), likewise anti-Kennedy. I'm half-horse, half alligator and part snapping turtle. I can turn a jack, I can lay a track. I was born standing up and talking back. Now who do you think I'll vote for."

Indeed. We may not agree with Dubya on immigration and spending, but Roberts and Alito put smiles on our faces.

Your concern is justified and it WILL happen, if either RG or JM bear the standard.

So, in the words if Deputy Barney Fife

Nip it in the bud!

He sure wouldn't offer up Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Which means very little. I doubt Rudy would offer up judges with strong conservative roots.

Believe it or not, state sovereignty took precedence over the omnipotence of the District of Columbia in 1861. South Carolina had a right to have a free port.

The War and Abe Lincoln changed all that, which is the basis for this whole discussion

When McCain was siding with Kerry about the number of troops that should of been in Iraq I had a feeling right there that I would never be able to vote for McCain for President in any kind of primary. I really hopes he decides against running for President.
