Smart political move. Of course it is merely campaign rhetoric, but it is a good move.
Bush has left this opening for them, mostly by less than convincing communication about HIS policies.
Not getting bin Laden in nearly five years is a HUGE opportunity for dems to exploit.
Each Republican House and Senate candidate will be forced to defend Bush's results, against the dem claim they have a better plan, for better results. That is 435 plus 33 separate races.
But for 2008 two Presidential candidates will be on their own, to make promises about their National Defense policies.
No. It means that midd-term elections are this fall.

Democrats want to leave Iraq in search of the nominal head of Al Qaeda? Perhaps somebody might point out to them that we are fighting Al Qaeda in Iraq.
Beyond that, I'm not full of trust when I hear the Dems talking about special ops - I remember Carter's effort at that.
Whether we want to believe it or not, he is still a smart man hell-bent on our destruction. His ability to hit American tagets at home and abroad has proven his effectiveness. We will be much safer when he is gone as any predecessor will not possess the tactical knowledge and mindset of OBL, even if they are just as loony.

I sure hope you are right. I was commenting on anecdotal evidence and citing the fact that loony lib friends of mine jumped right on the talking point.
I wish they would support the mission but this is just more lip service to try to sway the on the fence vote.

How stupid can the Democrats be with this three ring circus? It is well known that they let opportunity after opportunity to get Bin Laden slip by during the previous Clinton democrat administration. Now after the horse is out of the barn they think they can score political points riding in like Prince Charming in shining armor on a white charger to save the day.
How they think that this ruse can help Hillary is beyond me.
