Has France surrendered yet?

There is already bread on the streets of Paris!

Way too many capital "F" when describing france... It is an insult to the letter "F" when the uppercase is used in front of all things francophone.

It won't be funny in a few years when the President of France's name is Achmed something or other.

Italy and France in a war? It would be a race to see who surrenders first.

Well the French Motto for fighting is "Stop, Drop, and Run!"

A little perspective on French wimps:

"French casualties in WWI World War I cost France 1,357,800 dead, 4,266,000 wounded (of whom 1.5 million were permanently maimed) and 537,000 made prisoner or missing -- exactly 73% of the 8,410,000 men mobilized, according to William Shirer in The Collapse of the Third Republic. Some context: France had 40 million citizens at the start of the war; six in ten men between the ages of eighteen and twenty-eight died or were permanently maimed.

- according to a blogger at http://weblog.blogads.com/comments/514_0_1_0_C/

Yes, I know that the object of warfare is not to die for your country but "to get some other poor son of a witch to die for his!"

What is funny is that it is such a "godfather"-like thing to do: declare war with a guy as you give him a backrub... :^D

As I recall last time, the Italians waited until France was crippled in the north by the Blitzkrieg, then unceremoniously stabbed France in the belly with a push through the Alps...something like a crow dining on what the wolves left behind.

Somehow I doubt the Germans are interested in catering this Italian feast.

It is like it starts out as a backrub, but ends up with a small pinch at the perfect point on the neck that cuts off the flow of blood to the head.

I doubt the Germans are interested in speaking French or Italian.

If he had any sense of history, he'd use a Luger . . . you know, for old times' sake.

And then go all De Niro on his skull with a Louisville Slugger.

William Yorke Stevenson wrote in his history of the American Field Ambulance(1914-1917).

"The latest method to rehabilitate "blessés,"(wounded) particularly "couchés,"(stretcher cases) is to be stopped by a cut road or a smashed up "ravitaillement"(Resupply convoy) train, while shells are coming in.

Stout, Dix, Buell, and several others report remarkable resurrections. "Couchés" get out and run like deer; while "assis"(walking wounded) make regular Annette Kellerman dives into "abris."(dugouts).

Dix had to go up and down a line of dugouts shouting: "Oosong mes blessés! Oosong mes blessés!" for half an hour the other night, before he finally corralled them and proceeded on his way.

He said that one of his "couchés" actually climbed off the top-stretcher and succeeded in unfastening the back all by himself!"

C'est très amusant, which, I am sure, was the spirit in which it was intended.

I like, moi beaucoup, to kick the French around!

They are arrogant, pretentious, self-centered, endlessly self-agrandizing, completely unreasonable, and always in the philosophical weeds from lack of balance between intellectualism and common sense.

Ah, but they are elegant, intelligent, discerning, can be quite witty and charming, and do not eat Pop-Tarts!

They are also not wimps, IMO. They are not the friend that you want to have with you in a tough fight. This is not because they can not fight but because, really, they are nobody's ~friend~!
