I wonder if any of the other Big Ten student papers did the same. I doubt it.

As far as I know, only about 3 papers nationwide carried them.

Ahhh the Daily Illini.

35 Bucks a semester got us Bloom County every day. Other than keeping track of campus happenings, that was pretty much the only reason to subscribe.

I have not been reading that much on this- but what the heck is so offensive about this- or is it more that the ego maniacs (religions of peace-nics) can not stand that they are being ridiculed. They surely will have to be raging against the machine for eternity if that is the case.

"A college paper that prints daily?

Who'd have thought those little liberals were so industrious? Huh."

-It can't be too hard when all they're doing is reprinting the same DNC sticking points and propaganda filth each day. I'll give them credit for printing these accurate cartoon depictions of Muslims. Good for them. I just hope they take proper measures to protect themselves against Muslims who will now most likely be planning their beheadings.

They are overly sensitive, reactionary people. They will riot at the drop of a hat.

They don't seem to care if thousands of innocents get slaughtered in Allah's name, but a pencil sketch gives them cause to loot, riot, kill, and destroy.

The more I see from the "average" Muslim, the more I am inclined to believe their religion is a curse on humanity, and a disease to be fought until Islam is driven into extinction.

Those aren't the cartoons that got them upset.

The folk in the mideast also saw these genuinely offensive cartoons that Imam whosis obtained by some magical process. They were _never_ printed in Denmark:

And whichever Muslims drew the fake cartoons committed far more blasphemy than the Danes.

A college paper that prints daily?

From personal experience I can tell you that the papers at UMass and Ohio State have been dailys since at least the mid '80s.

The DI goes Daily (well Mon-Fri). And it's not as liberal as you'd think, there's a contigent of conservatives (like me) that write for them.

Amazing. The DI used to have a Muslim editor who included all sorts of anti-American lies in that newspaper. What a giant step forward!

From personal experience, I can tell you that the Oklahoma Daily has been published at least since the 1940's at OU.

I read it daily back then to keep up with Bud Wilkinson and those magnificent Sooners. (Engineering students didn't have a lot of time to waste on other outside reading) ;^)

Sonny Sixkiller is probably my favorite athlete name ever. Although he didn't go to Illinois. West Coast, I believe, maybe Washington. Illinois produced Dick Butkus, Ray Nitcshke, Jim Grabowski, Red Grange, George Halas and my favorite J.C. Caroline.

A Husky, fer sure. My mistake. I watched him play back yonder when they played UofI. Never forgot him. I saw the 'Chief' pix and immediately flashed on Sonny for some reason. Few of his receivers could handle the ball. They came in straight and fast, like a cannonball with after-burners. Heh.

"He grew up into a proud young man
determined breed, he left his land
Put down his arrows, hung up his shield
and became a warrior on the football field!"

Yeah, I remember her. The good thing about a college newspaper is that every 4 years, you have completely fresh blood.
