Not really, considering how it has been overblown, he wouldn't be able to get anything significant through Congress(even if it tipped to slightly Dem), and he wouldn't even try.
To me a lot has to do with other issues relating to personal freedom. If someone cannot grasp something as simple as the 2nd Amendment, I have a very hard time trusting them with much more complex issues. I find that using the Bill of Rights, especially the 1st and 2nd Amendment to be a good "litmus test" due to the simplicity and ease of understanding. Does that make any sense?

John Kyl, I do, and he wanted more, but felt the President addressed the issue.
I think we ALL want more done about this exceptionally serious issue.
I'm just thankful that President Bush is at least addressing it. And he's the first President to do so. He takes on the tough ones. That's one of the things I admire most about him........willing to take flak from all sides while doing what he believes is best.
Of course I'd back you up if you needed it....(as long as we're not debating the "immigration" issue ;-)

All I was saying is what was reported. Not that he built reactors or anything, just that he was around the stuff some. So a word that was probably a big part of his vocabulary, he couldn't pronounce. In 1976 a plurality of the Merken pipple voted for him despite the funny way he talked. But not me. I was just 18 and already knew no Democrat would ever get my vote (though I must admit I wasn't too thrilled about Ford either).
He's proved an ability to grasp complex issues through turning around New York City and also how he'd deal in an extreme crisis. Quite a long track record. Sure, he's been clearly wrong about some issues, but on the whole he's been quite good.

Instead of believing that legal immigration has stopped, that the ONLY people coming to live/work in America are illegals, and/or that NO legal immigrants make any positive additions to America and its economy, I would recommend that you remove your head from that dark, dank body cavity and take a look at reality. And it would also stand you in good stead, to stop imagining that you can read the president's mind!
