I hope you realize that this McCain ban on torture would be used by lawyers to prevent all tough interrogation. Even sleep deprivation and sodium pentathol. You really want that? |
You're so right. Once McCain gets his way, the debate will move from torture to 'what is torture?' I can assure you that there are some that call imprisonment torture, and we will be on that preverbial slippery slope. |

Good morning.

I can only hope your loved ones, and mine, are never endangered because your principles prevent you from doing whatever is necessary to protect them.

Well, I hope so, too. But that construct does nothing to alter what is right and what is wrong.
If my choice were to order, or approve, the rape of some detainee's 4-year-old daughter, or to take a chance with the safety of myself, or my 4-year-old daughter, or you, that choice is easy. Right and wrong don't change because the price of doing right is high.

Personally, I don't know why McCain would even be friends with someone like John Kerry in the first place. Besides, torture is real not effective.

Good morning.
"Right and wrong don't change because the price of doing right is high."
Right and wrong become irrelevant concepts when the wolf is coming through the door.
McCain's bill isn't about raping babies or right and wrong. It is political grandstanding that will be used by our enemies the DemocRATs to hinder the war effort, putting us all at risk.
