SO MUCH information has reached as to the illegalities permitted in the decisions made for Terri. I didn't recall a doctor's false statement giving her six months. I do know that Michael Schiavo, with his ghoul atty. Felos (at the time chairman of the Woodside Hospice) deposited Terri there, without her family's knowledge.
Wasn't that hospice cited for medicaid fraud? I guess that's what you referred to.
I will check it out. I'm curious.
I can cite a personal experience. My mother was in a nursing home for two years. She was sent there for rehab following a broken hip. The nursing home used their own pharmacy to provide meds to all their patients.
I questioned the med costs and compared them with what my local, chain pharmacy charged. Mom was paying quite a bit more. She also had a drug plan which she always used (courtesy of the large corporation where my deceased father worked and which he paid into.)
You can believe that her drug plan cost her a LOT less than what she was paying to the nursing home pharmacy.
I met with the home's head nurse to discuss it and request that I could order all my mother's meds and make sure they were always available to her.
I had to sign some agreement...no problem. I saved my mother an unnecessary expense. According to the staff, no one else did this.
I had to wonder how many other patients could have been spared the high cost of the nursing home's private pharmacy. That's one of the things that goes on.
On the other side, some nursing home patients put their assets in their childrens' name, for instance, and the government, you and I, pay for their care.
Dishonesty is rampant; Woodside Hospice may be just one of the culprits. The main point is that Natalee did not belong there and we all know why the adulterous "husband" put her there. By the way, have he and Jodie Centonze married yet? I haven't heard and you don't need to respond to that. LOL
Suntanned actor George Hamilton and Charlie Crist look like twins......
Meanwhile, here is another story on what can happen. Compassion if you can afford it:
Do the Poor Deserve Life Support?

Tirhas Habtegiris, a 27-year-old terminal cancer patient at Baylor Regional Medical Center in Plano, Texas, was removed from her ventilator last month because she couldn't pay her medical bills. The hospital gave Ms. Habtegiris' family 10 days' notice, and then, with the bills still unpaid, withdrew her life support on the 11th day. It took Ms. Habtegiris about 15 minutes to die.

On a lighter note, a glimpse of Florida:

Joe Garrity, you come on to these threads to attack floriduh voter or to spread some other sour notes. You never add anything positive, only negative, although in a very lawyerly way.
You post only to Terri threads, nowhere else. You act as the Johnny-one-note trolls in the past have done, to visit these topics only to plant dissention, not to really add anything.
Meanwhile you are cheered on at clownposse by a gaggle ripping into us at freerepublic vigorously lately.
If you are not a troll, why are you here posting as you do?
Are you the devil's advocate?

Sorry, but this sounds a little odd. She was in an accident yesterday and surgery is still a possibility , yet someone has submitted to the insurance company for approval for rehab and has received a response? That sounds a little quick on the trigger. What types of rehab since the extent of the injuries wouldn't clearly be known yet? Getting approval on PT is going to require something a little more specific then it appears it could possibly be known at this early stage. Also to get an approval or a denial in hours would be shocking.
I am no friend of insurance companies, but this sounds a little over blown at this point.
Prayers for you friend and their family
Prayers for Scott Thomas!

Knock off the personal attacks.
Many say that insurance clerks are running the medical system. Maybe these clerks are paid commissions for the claims that they can sucessfully reject. It's every man for himself these days even though many SPEAK of "compassion." Today "compassion" means a new federal program for the downtrodden, but it's the government that benefits, not the recipients, in many cases.
I have found over the years that virtually all of those cheerleading the extermination of Terri Schindler knew very little about the circumstances of the case, and that includes the evil George W. Greer too. Forget the "R" after that name.
This must be the smoking section.
Waiting for an update about Scott's hearing. I pray it's going well.

An admit summary to Hospice was signed by a doctor whose name I can't recall. I haven't seen the document since last March. That doc either said Terri was terminal or had six months to live. It's the old hand-off.
You are obsolete.
Your post made me think - unless you are w/a hospitalized family member 24/7, how would we know what really is happening?
No news! Was it postponed? Nothing at Scott's site.
We have a lot of religious people here, so let's please pray for the 13 coal miners and their families.
It doesn't look good for them, and they need a miracle.
