For not "celebrating" a perverted lifestyle this guy gets fired? What did they want him to do take it up the @$$ to prove he is "with it?"
What next?
How a Bank Robber Month? or how about Sept is "Child Molestor" Month
I don't even care that the Red Cross supports homosexuality, (although I do NOT understand what sexuality has to do with a damn thing in the workplace), I DO however do not like the persecution of Christians. I remember as a kid asking my mother about 'end times' and could not conceive that Christianity and Jesus would be considered a horrible thing. In my area growing up, if you said something bad about God, you got tattled on. I could not comprehend that happening in this country. Who would have thought I wouldn't even be in my 30's good before it was reality.
what bugs me is that they didn't even seem to try to see if that blood could have been used elsewhere.
they charge the patient for it, but derned if they'll give you a dime for any.
later pingout if new info.
I get stupid company emails similar to this all the time. The emails always consist of that inane it's-so-wonderful blather, but they're never emphasized as mandatory or compulsory. I never respond to them (they all get auto-routed to Junk Email), I just ignore 'em.
I've resigned myself to the fact that the 60's-hippies-without-a-cause-or-a-clue are in charge right now. They can bore me with their stupid, empty idealism all they want; as long as it's never compulsory, I couldn't care less. These aging old hippies will promote any nonsense that they think gives them a purpose to exist. Simply stated, they're not worth fighting over this.
IN fact, PC is a part of marxism.
Rather, it's the shock troops of Marxism, even if it enters softly, usually. After all, we're only asking you to do it to be fair. Once PC has a foothold, then the big guns come in--it's no longer "optional."
I would not do that unless my blood never left my sight and they gave it to me so I could store it until it was needed. What is to prevent the hospital from selling your blood to someone that does not want to risk getting tainted blood?
Oh sweet Jesus! I didn't get anything for the guy that washes my Dinky.
I wasn't calling God you dope...the beaner that grooms my dog is named Jesus.
Even the Red Cross now.
Hello? It is the Red CROSS. I somehow think this is a far different group now than what Clara Barton wanted it to be.
If they were honest, they'd change it to the Red Square. Or perhaps the less offensive Red Circle.
Sheesh. You really can't make this stuff up.
I wondered that myself. The e-mail didn't really seem to require him to do anything. I wonder why he got so upset by it?
It certainly is absurd. Accepting homosexuality as normal has become the new minimum standard for decency. Just plain weird, especially for those who really know what the homosexual community is all about.
It creeps me out that the people in charge of the blood supply are practicing these primitive witch doctor beliefs. After all it's the homosexual community that brought us AIDS, or did they forget? Why would they celebrate a group of people who have done more to infect the rest of us than anyone else?

Just guessing here...Is Mr. Wilkins gay? I think it's a safe bet.
Ask me again why I do not, nor intend ever to contribute to the Red Cross or the United Way...
LMAO!
...but by expressing an opinion that homosexuality was not something to be "celebrated," he was summarily fired. Sickening.
Maybe, just maybe, because he had been a volunteer for this organization for 30 years before he was hired, and actually believes that the Red Cross has no business "celebrating" (ie promoting) homosexuality?
I don't think you'd want to receive blood from people who would sell it. People desperate enough to need money from selling their blood are quite likely to have blood borne diseases like hepatitis and AIDS.
The Red Cross even has its own body of Corporate Diversity committees that oversees the implementation of a "diversity code" for the organization. Employees must participate in "diversity training" seminars, and they are subject to the "diversity vision" of the Red Cross that includes "sexual orientation" on the list of "communities we serve."
It seems you either play it their way or take the highway.
